Please ignore this. This most magnificent event already took place. I can only guess that you're receiving this now because the servers at Yahoo probably liked this fine note so much that they decided to duplicate and send a full week later.
Back to scheduling your regular weekend runs...

Come one, come all, snow or rain, down to the lake in Wakefield on Saturday morning for a long or short run of any distance. Even if you want to sleep in, come on down when you get up, because you will have company for a hearty run.In short:What: Long run of any distance (1 lap is 3.1 miles)When: Saturday, March 1st (rain or shine, snow or monsoon)Where: Lake Quannapowitt (park to the left of the Lord Wakefield Hotel)Start Time: 5:30 am (this is when I will start, you can show up anytime)Secondary Start Time: 6:30 am (most people will start at 6:30)Pace: Pace will be determined by the group. I will do my best to make sure it is leisurely for all.*I will put outside my Blue Subaru a cooler of Gatorade, water, bananas, and an assortment of Gu's.More information:My plan is to pull into the parking lot at the Lord Wakefield Hotel and park to the immediate left along water's edge so that I am ready for a 5:30 am start. I will clear my throat for a magnificent rendition of our National Anthem and then promptly run a ceremonial mile before coming back to the car for what will be the first of 8 clockwise laps around the lake. So far we have 7 people including me who will run at least two laps.Since I expect this 26.2 mile journey to take about 4 hours, figure that you can show up anytime between 5:30-9:00 am for company on a lap or more for yourself. Most folks have agreed to a 6:30 am start and will run 3 laps.Be aware that the forecast calls for 3-6 inches of snow starting early Saturday morning and lasting well into our run. The run will go on. If you're worried, check your e-mail in the morning. No e-mail means we're on!Why? I plan to run marathon distance. The course is the certified Lord Wakefield marathon that is part of the 24 hour race around the same lake. I had been plugging away at a marathon-a-month for 17 months, with my eye on Hyannis last week as month number 18, before coming down with the Flu and forcing me to not even pick up my number. So I will throw my own marathon. And you should join because it will be great fun to run with others as you log your own chosen mileage. Boston isn't long off -- so come on down and make it a good one!
