Re: [IDPA] where to hide gun in bedroom ?

I have one of the locking gun boxes that has a finger pad combination lock. It
sits on the floor beside the bed right next to the headboard and the wall. It
is on the side away from the door, so no-one sees it. I keep my SIG 228 and my
Beretta Tomcat in it. With the keypads, you can find it and do the combo even
in the dark without looking.

Larry

Subject: [IDPA] where to hide gun in bedroom ?

hi all,
since I have had two gilrs ive kept my gun pretty much where ever I wanted it.
neither of the girls show any interest at all in messing with guns. the oldest
one wanted to shoot with dad once. I took her out and let her shoot a little 22
rifle that was my first gun... she shot about 10 rounds and that was enough.
with the coming of my son however ALL HAS CHANGED
if you dont want him in it you better nail it shut or Lock it, screws wont do he
thinks dads cordless is cool.
So where my glock used to sit on the bedside table at arms reach its now on the
top of the TV in the bedroom where he cant see it when I go to bed. its about
10' from my bed.
other night there was some stuff that happened that made me rethink having my
weapon that far away.
So. I have a bed w/headboard that I could put a cheap holster behind pretty
easy.. this sounded pretty good until I played with the idea.
Good points are its there, its hidden, I think its in an unusual place... all
good
Bad Points,
its a strange action to grab. Its not a natural act to spread out and reach over
your head if youre scared.
Its awkward as hell for the off hand to grab and all but impossible in some
situations if you arent in the bed good luck getting to your gun.
Also thought of going under the bed,
has some up and down points too.
Anyone have any advice other than behind and under. it needs to be hidden and
accessible
TIA
LP
