Here are some pic's. I forgot to mention, buyer pays actual shipping.

The mount can go up to 1 7/8". I'm sure you could get a bigger mount from Air Boom if needed.

Was out with friends on their new X14v trying to help them create a surf wake.  Nice boat, but I could not seem to get the wake cleaned up for surfing either side myself.  Had 8 in the boat besides the rider.  Tried all ballast combos.  Boat passengers on one side, spread out to the nose, etc.  Took it up to 15 mph, wake cleans up, after slowing down to a surf speed the wake is all wash below 14.  Puzzled...

Any experience out there with the X14 (V-Drive)?

It’s shaping up to be one heck of a weekend!  As of this morning there are 49 people signed up, coming from NC, VA, MD, PA, OH, NJ, TN, and maybe even one from FL.

If you’re thinking of joining us, check the foilforum.com thread for info, and give me a ring. Since we’ll be busy with the event I won’t be checking email frequently after about noon tomorrow (Thursday), so pick up the phone after that! J

Looking forward to seeing you there!  Also, thank you for registering online, Lonnie.

When Lonnie gets there we will double check the list of pre-registrations and hand him a wristband and he's ready to ski.  That's it.  If you haven't registered online he will be foiling while you are doing paperwork.  You don't like paperwork.  We don't like paperwork.  Register online and eliminate the paperwork!

NOTICE: We have found a flaw in the registration process that prevents you from joining/renewing your membership and registering for the fly-in on the same day.  Please go to www.usawaterski.org and join or renew now so that you can register tomorrow.
Also, there will be no Internet access at the beach so please register now (you're already online).

Start here:

Looking forward to a good time this weekend,

We have chosen to use online registration for this year's fly-in to reduce paperwork, speed up the red tape and get everyone on the water faster.
If you complete your registration online, you will have NO PAPERWORK to fill out on site!  This is good for the riders and the people who graciously volunteer to help us out.  Please take advantage of this option as it saves us all a lot of time and hassle.

Here's how it works:
1. Go to http://www.usawaterski.org/rankings/Registration.asp and register online.
2. Your name goes on the list so that you may be handed a wristband as soon as you show up.
3. Put on the wristband and go foiling.

USA Waterski has removed the guest member option, but they did create a grassroots membership that costs half of the old Active membership.
Not a current USA WS member?  No problem You can signup/renew your membership, register for the fly-in, sign the waiver, all online.
Already a member but don't have your card handy?  Not a problem.  You can search for your member number during the registration process.

For my rope I'm useing 75 feet of zero stretch rope, 7 feet of stretchy rope,
and a 5 foot no stretch handle. I just kept adding until my arm stopped getting

My favorite setup is a non-stretch rope, with one 5 foot section of normal slalom (stretchy) line. It gives you just enough stretch to absorb some shock on bad landings, and even has some give when the boat pitches so that’s not so noticeable.  I’m sure everyone has an old stretchy line laying around somewhere…. Replace one of your 5 foot take-offs with one out of the stretch line and give it a try.

Brad,

Bill's advice is what works for us the best.  A non-stretch rope will give you the smoothest and most consistent pull.  Those rough waves are only on occasion, so ride with your arms bent.  After a while you just get used to waiting a few seconds for the waves to pass.  If it really bothers you, then when you see the boat approaching those waves move back to behind the boat so you won't feel them.  Most of us get pulled from a tower, and it's really not that bad.  Remember to use your arms as the shock absorber and you won't even feel it (just lightly hang on, don't pull or fight it).

Oh and think I use 65' rope length (plus 5' for handle, and another 5' for the release)

-Jason

Also, weight the bow of your boat so it settles down sooner. Or installing a trim tab on the stern will push the bow down too.

I am looking to your collective expertise to figure this one out...

I am currently using a coated wakeboard line (no stretch) at 70', but notice when we hit a rough patch of waves/wakes it tends to pull me all over the place. I was wondering what other people use/like.

What line type?
What length?

Thanks!
Brad

Subject: [Hydrofoil] Best tow rope to use?

I am looking to your collective expertise to figure this one out...

I am currently using a coated wakeboard line (no stretch) at 70', but notice when we hit a rough patch of waves/wakes it tends to pull me all over the place. I was wondering what other people use/like.

What line type?
What length?

Thanks!
Brad

We stopped using the tower for the air chair because of this. We tie off as low as possible on the back of the boat. It does reduce air but you can easily switch for big air days.

I do that, but it's to reduce the stress on my elbows when the line is loaded.  I never thought of it as something that reduced the jerking I get when the boat is going through chop.  What you need is a heavier, longer boat so it cuts through the wave lengths without pitching front to back.  That pitching translates to a jerking pull up at the top of the tower.  My boat is a small SkiCenturian Falcon and jerks a lot when hitting other boat wakes.  I just live with it since I'm not going to invest in another boat, especially a heavier one that could easily use 2x the fuel I do now.

Some of us add a few feet of stretchable (12 strand) line tied to the static (non-stretch) line to soften the tugs.  Of course investing in a Air Sling fixes that issue.  I'm still saving...

Check it out guys.  This has been going on since the late '90s.  Not a bit of truth to it.

Ok  guys, my lawyer's paralegal sent this one to me and if it  doesn't work, they are aware that we all will be coming to  visit them for a law suit for false advertisement!  J

THIS  TOOK TWO PAGES OF THE TUESDAY USA TODAY - IT IS FOR  REAL

To all of my  friends, I do not usually forward  messages,

But this is from my friend  Pearlas Sandborn and she really is

 an  attorney.

If she says that this  will work - It will work. After all,What  have

 you got to  lose?

SORRY EVERYBODY.. JUST HAD  TO TAKE THE CHANCE!!! I'm an

attorney, And  I know the law. This thing is for real. Rest  assured

AOL and Intel will follow through  with their promises for

fear of facing a  multimillion- dollar class action suit similar to the  one

filed by PepsiCo against General  Electric not too long a  go.

Dear Friends:  Please do not take this for a junk  letter.

Bill Gates sharing his fortune. If  you ignore this, You will repent

 later  .

Microsoft and AOL are  now the largest Internet companies

and in  an effort to make sure that Internet Explorer remains  the

most widely used program, Microsoft and   AOL are running an e-mail

 beta  test.

When you forward  this e-mail to friends, Microsoft can and  will

track it (If you are a Microsoft  Windows user) For a two weeks

 time  period.

For every  person that you forward this e-mail to, Microsoft will  pay

you $245.00 For every person that you  sent it to that forwards it on,

Microsoft  will pay you $243.00 and for every third person that  receives

it, You will be paid $241.00.  Within two weeks, Microsoft will  contact

you for your address and then send  you a check..

Thought  this was a scam myself, But two weeks af ter receiving  this

e-mail and for warding it on.  Microsoft contacted me for my address a  nd

within days, I received a check for $24,  800.00 . You need to respond

before the  beta testing is over. If anyone can afford this, Bill gates is  the

 man.

It's  all marketing expense to him. Please forward this to as  many

people as possible. You are bound to  get at least $10, 000.00

We're not going to  help them out with their e-mail beta test  without

getting a little something for our  time.. My brother's girlfriend got in

on  this a few months ago. When I went to visit him for the  Baylor/UT

game, she showed me her check. It  was for the sum of $4, 324.44 and

was  stamped 'Paid I n Full'.
