If you visit http://www.ushanationals.com/Events.shtm you can see the updated scoring for the Pro/Outlaw/Open divisions for the USHA Nationals (and Lavon and PelicanFest). The Advanced, Intermediate, and Amateur scoring did not change.

Now the Pro, Outlaw, and Open divisions all use the same air scales (which also changed), so it will be easier to compare riders in one division to another.

The second big addition is the Technical / Air matrices which show total points on a per trick basis depending on how many frames of air the rider gets. There is one matrix for the Pro, Outlaw, and Open divisions and one each for Advanced Air, Advance Technical, Intermediate, and Amateur. These should help riders plan their runs and figure out which tricks will score best for them.

I don't know if they are with H2O anymore. Try Chris Brandon, he is the core of H2O.
I have included the two email addresses that I have for him here. I am not sure which is current.

Hope this helps!

Just a word to any females who may be entertaining the thought of attending the TN Flyin. Come on!!  I have a detective friend who will be doing a complete sweep on our boat ("The Chick Boat") to ensure that any bugs or hidden cameras Cliff has hidden aboard are found and disabled prior to the flyin. :-)  Just like last year, the guys will see only what we want them to see! :-)
Kidding aside, we are truly looking forward to attending again this year.  The houseboat accomodations made this flyin so unique for us and we had a better time than we ever imagined we would.  So, if you are still on the fence about coming, take that leap and come on!  You know you need a vacation anyway!
Looking forward to seeing old friends and making more new ones!

One more thing on the infamous "Chick Boat".

Our boat is used for the chick boat.  Last year I realized that the "chicks" were not going to share ALL of the pictures  with us guys!  So this year I will have a hidden video camera installed and will be selling a copy of said video to the highest bidder at the Fly-In!

See, one more reason to attend!

See ya there,

My first Fly-in was last year at the TN Fly-in and I couldn't have felt more
welcome. All my paperwork is in and I would hate to see this not go this year
because people are still on the fence.

If you are considering it, please take the step and sign up. We need you as well
as the sport needs you. Hell, who's going to help me land my first gainer if it
gets canceled?

Sign up! It's a bargain and a ton of fun... And, like everyone before me has
said, the lake is great, the marina is great, the accommodations are great but
most of all, the people are great!

Hey Everybody,

Myself and Lisa went last year and had a blast!  Got in tons of riding, water was perfect, the food up at the marina was great, accommodations were great and the ski show was a total blast!  The ski show draws a pretty large crowd JUST for the ski show.  This is a big deal for the spectators.  I had several comment to me that they look forward to this every year.

It's pretty cool just hanging out on the houseboat in the evening and early in the mornings.  Incredibly peaceful.  Probably the two biggest highlights were the evening "Lake Baths" as a group and the now infamous "Chick Boat"!

This is one to definately check out if you have not been.  I personally would hate to see this one cancelled.  We've already made our reservations!

Hope to see ya'll there,

Well we have not heard from anyone about my last post and it is getting really close to the Fly-In.This is going to make it tough for the Fly-In to pay for it's self.
We will have to make some last minute changes to the way we charge people to attend. We don't know yet what the changes will be,but we will post info as the changes are made.
As you all know fuel prices are outrageous and we always have a large bill at the marina. The house boats are also a large expense and with so few people attending we are concerned that the funds will not be there at the end of the event.
It is possible that if the numbers don't add up we might have to call off the Fly-In.We hope this is not the case.So stay tuned for more info.....

I wanted to share with you some important updates with regards to the 2008 USHA Nationals. Due to a selfish individual (who claimed to be a friend of hydrofoiling but actually is only a friend when it benefits him) we were forced to change dates and venues for the 2008 Nationals.

You have not received much information from us over the past several months because we were working out these issues. Needless to say, it has been very problematic for us here in Colorado and has impacted our ability to solidify sponsorship for the event. We are happy to say that most of it is behind us now and have a full court press on finalizing sponsorship now that the venue and dates have been resolved.

We are moving the dates for the Nationals up by one week (July 17 to 20, 2008) and we are moving them to Water Valley Resort Community in Windsor, Colorado. Water Valley is 62 miles north of Denver International Airport. You can check out their website at http://www.watervalley.com. Water Valley is going to be the best host we could hope for. I can not think of a better location in Colorado for the event.

In 2007, the three most common complaints we got were spectating (viewing the action), not enough chances to practice before you competed, and the course was a little on the tight (short) side. This venue solves all of those issues. The new location is FANTASTIC!!!! Located in a new developing resort community adjacent to a fantastic 27 hole golf course on a lake that was designed for watersports and watersports viewing! You can drive your vehicle right to the waters edge and chose whether you want to spectate on a grass beach, sand beach, or bleachers. No trees in your way and no Yucca plants to deal with either. A dream for spectators. This lake also enables us to allow for practice rides to run while we are running the event. We will have a designated practice schedule for the divisions prior to them actually competing. No excuses this year not being able to ride before you compete and performing at your best (takes away my excuses). I have a good feeling that this will really enhance the level of competition in 2008. The actual course will be longer this year so that we will not have to run as many passes. The length of the course is almost twice as long as it was in 2007.

We have a deal set up with Holiday Inn Express in Loveland (about 15 minutes away) for $79.00 per night for rooms. Please book early in order to take advantage of this price. You can link to their website via the Nationals website http://www.ushanationals.com. There is also camping available was well (also 15 minutes from the site).

Please check the website frequently over the next two weeks for more updates on sponsors, camping info, things to do, and exact event schedule. You can begin registering for the event at this time. We are limiting the competition to the first 80 riders so please do not delay. Get registered NOW!

Attached  are photos I took from the site so you can get an idea of the layout as well as a layout map that Todd Goins drew up.  You can see more site photos on www.foilfreaks.com

Thanks for your patience. We look forward to seeing you in a few short months. If you have any questions about the event,

please feel free to contact me,Todd or Allison Goins, or Dave Hebert here in Colorado.

Wow! Techy, slylin and protective without making you look like George
Costanza. That is a good looking helmet.
