Tonight versus Bothell.  It is on FSN at 7:30 pm PST.  Channel 32 on Spokane Comcast...

When I get back at 5 am, my dad and I are going to try and go foiling (we did last weekend after our semi final game...  the boat iced up a bit).  Is that hydrofoil related enough?!

I just want to give a huge thanks to Don and Sky Ski for sponsoring the USHA Nationals DVD. By putting it on their web site, we expect far greater exposure for this DVD than it would get otherwise. Anyone who is wondering about the sport – whether new to hydrofoiling or involved for a long time -- can see the highlights of this major event by burning the DVD themselves, or getting the full resolution copy for a nominal fee.

Again, great job by Andy Jorgensen and the Rocky Mountain Hydrofoil Club for organizing a terrific event in 2007, and doing it all again in 2008.  If you weren’t there, check the DVD for what you missed and then make plans to come in July.

And, this DVD sponsorship is over and above the sponsorship Sky Ski already provided to the USHA Nationals. Way to step up Sky Ski, and thanks!

Brad Scott

USHA President

I wanted to let everyone know that the US nationals DVD is up for download with instructions on what to do with it once you save it and how to burn and play it. This has been a pretty big undertaking for us and we underestimated what it was going to take to make all this happen, so it took a little longer then anticipated, for that we apologize.

For their efforts on the DVD I would like to thank Dan Pohl for the Video work photos and music choices, Tom Grainger our supper web guy to make it feasible to download and Jake Kinnison who’s hair must have grown and inch and now has nightmares from watching the beta versions so may times.  Without them this would not have happened.

This thing is BIG, even in the reduced low resolution format it is still about 1 meg so your download time will probably be 45min to several hours depending on the connection speed you have. We do however have it available in the high resolution version on DVD for less than 10 bucks including mailing if you want one that will look great on the big screen. For you guys who have to climb the telephone pole out back just to make a telephone call this would probably be your best bet.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our loyal customers who continue to support us. We would not be here without you!  At this time of year we all need to be thankful to be able to afford a sport like this and not forget there are people in need out there who are looking for their next meal.  Please help out your local Rescue Mission during this holiday season with the money you saved by watching the Free version and maybe one less trip to the local Starbucks.

From all of us here again thank you for all your support.

I am getting flooded with questions about the download.

Glad everyone is excited to get it. Sorry but I do not have anything to do with
the download.

Wait until Jake at Sky Ski sends out a note with a link to say that it is ready.

I do know that the download is about 1 gig. This version has reduced quality in
order to get the size down so that even people in South Dakota can download it.

You will be able to order a hard copy of the DVD at full quality (2.6 gig) and
have it shipped to you for under $10 in the US.

So please wait for the announcement and I hope you enjoy it.

Hi

we are a french couple leaving in Winter Haven - Florida.

Since a few years my husband is practising Sky Ski and he loves, but he is
learning by himself, and he will be pleased to meet some people sometimes to ski
with them and exhange ideas to improve ... so if you are not too far, and have
one hour, why not.

Otherwise he has Pro ST SKY SKI and he changed one month ago the seat and he
bought the " Evo " One " and he like it because lighter.

So we have to sell a Pro ST Shock Tower

used / like new - w/Traxx Pad & Dbl Belt
This one come with optional Belt SWIVEL
and the Pump for the Shock

Price : 700$ - pick up at Winter Haven - Fl

For those of you who were at the Chain Reaction, you got to see the first prototype Mach III in action.  Sure it took about 2 hours of grinding one night to fix some issues, but who’s counting.  :)  Ferney and I both rode it for competition after only having been on it one day.

Since then we’ve gone through a few iterations, and have hopefully got the first production model in the water.  The first tests have been finished with great success!  We still have a few other things to verify before I have the first batch made, but we are getting very, very close.  And unfortunately my boat is winterized, so I haven’t even been on the production model yet.  But I did get to ride the prototype – and let’s just say I’m hooked.  :)

What was I trying to accomplish with the Mach III?  I’ll put in 2 words… 60 frames!!!  I want someone (probably not me) to be able to hit 60 frames unassisted with the Mach 3/Falcon combo.  The reason I am so addicted to this sport is when you are 15+ feet in the air, and looking way down at others around you… there is just no other feeling that compares.  So I want to go even higher – I’m hoping to personally see 55 frames from this wing combo, and am expecting to see the Pros take that up another 5.  I also want to be able to learn tricks at slower speeds – one benefit of a wing that gets you more air is you can go slower and still get the same amount of air as previous wings.  Going slower normally means less pain on crashes – and I like less pain!  I want wings that don’t glitch, and wings that clean up very fast.  The Mach 2.5 was all that, but I thought I could get a little more surface area, and still maintain the quickness and steep takeoffs.  Well… here’s the result.

What’s different – more surface area.  But most importantly the profile of the wing has TOTALLY changed.  The shape (outline) of the wing is basically the same – at least for the leading edge, so it will still carve like a knife, and clean up amazingly fast.  The leading edge sits out the same distance as the 2.5, which has worked out well for most riders.  But with the new profile change, it kicks you in the butt when you are taking off – wake tricks are sick and way too much fun!  I was hitting the biggest air ever in Florida for me.  Ferney and Bradley have since been testing the wing with the minor changes.  Bradley’s video has a 56.5 framer in it – one might say, yes, but he always goes that high.  However, it was at 1.5 mph slower than he normally rides and in colder water!!  So look out boys and girls – when Ferney and Bradley get back up to speed and in warmer water next season, we are going to start seeing 58/59 and hopefully 60 framers!!!

You can see more info about the wing and some video of their rides at:

After testing has finished, I will start the production process.  My best guess is that the Mach III will be available in January and will cost ~$600.  The cost is still unknown since I don’t have a “production” cost yet from my CNC guys.  But I am hoping/planning to keep it in the $600 ballpark and hopefully less.

For those of you wondering, I do still have the 2.5s and will continue to sell them at a reduced price ($500).  Also, I got the Falcon Rear Wings in, so if you are looking for a great Christmas present for yourself, let me know. :)

Thanks to all of you for your support!  And no matter what assembly you ride, I hope it gets you pumped up enough to want to be out on the water every available minute with your family and friends.  In the end, that’s all that matters.  It’s going to be another amazing and fun year!!!  Best wishes to all of you throughout this holiday season.  And I for one am VERY Thankful for all of the hydrofoiling family and for all the support/help/and friendships I’ve acquired along the way.  I LOVE this sport!

XTREMEly yours,

Big Bry
