Not yet, but I've only been wearing it under my drysuit for a couple of
weeks now, so give it some time.

all you have to do to avoid rope burns is hold the rope under water
while the boat is picking you up... it's science.

Just wanted to give a review of the Helium Products I used over the last year.

The jacket is very comfortable and I like the built in back brace.  I've had back problems in years past and have a sore back most mornings when I wake up.  I didn't have any issues with my back this year.  I don't know if it was the brace, but it had to help.  The only thing I didn't like was the velcro that held up the zipper.  On some hard falls it will release and partially unzip.  I've never had it come all the way off.  I plan on adding some more velcro this winter.  You can see some slight wear on the bottom of the jacket.  I think the seat belt on the Sky Ski is probably causing this.

Handle: In the past I had the hard rubber grip because I wore handles out quickly.  This one shows some signs of wear but I should get another full year or more out of it.  The foam started coming off during the summer, I glued it back and it hasn't been a problem since. The sides of the handle show no signs of cracking and my hands didn't get any calouses this year.  I noticed a big change on 3's after switching to this handle.  The regrab is much easier with a solid handle.

Rope:  The plastic coating is sweet!  I've seen some other brands kink up and split, but I haven't had that problem.  Once you get this thing wet it will not tangle.  I can let it slide through my hands at high speeds without getting rope burns.

I didn't get candidate statements returned in time to have them on the
voting page, but I would like to correct that.
As for my nomination for male athlete of the year, I'm very flattered to be
nominated, but quite honestly I voted for Geno. He was unstoppable at
Cypress Gardens.
However, I do regret not getting a statement in for Team of the Year because
even though I'm the only one listed, there are many people that come
together to make the Texas Fly-In happen. On behalf of them I'd like to
present this statement for voting consideration whether or not it can be
added to the site:
This year Team Texas was able to once again pull off a successful fly-in
with plenty of boats, plenty of gas and, thanks to some very generous
donations from several individuals, plenty of food. ...and we were able to
still do it without charging any mandatory fees. This is because of not
only our generous sponsors, but also the great people who attend the fly-in
and choose to support it by buying raffle tickets and shirts. There are far
too many people to list, but I would like to thank everyone who had a hand
in making the Texas Fly-In a great time. Thanks to the people who let us
use their land and homes, thanks to everyone who donated raffle items and
food, and to the people who donated their time and talents to find sponsors,
do paperwork, prep the site, cook, pull skiers, push the raffle tickets,
design the shirts, clean up, take and share pictures and video, and the many
other thankless tasks that have to be done so that we all can play and have
a good time.
These are the people who make the Texas Fly-In work and these are the people
who I'd love to see recognized.

Not to take away from other products on the market, but I want to give everyone some info on a new product we have;
Here is a picture of a Tower Extension by Fly High.

http://www.foilfreaks.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1299

After months of testing and design work, we have a tower extension that will extend your tower twice as high as it is now, making it easier to learn new tricks. Great for wakeboarding and hydrofoiling.
The cost is about half of other products on the market, and you can depend on the quality - it's from Fly High.

lr@..., or call me at (219)628-3829 if you want pricing or more info.
Just a reminder, I can get this, and most other equipment from Fly High and Barefoot International at reduced cost and pass the savings on.

My boat isn't winterized but I couldn't get out either. Temps mid 70's and sunny all weekend. It's killing me. I had to celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday and Saturday and have about 4 million Christmas lights to get put up. Been working on that when not pigging out on turkey. Wish you would have showed up, then I would have had to gone out and foiled.

Its in the 60's here in IL the sun was out and there in no wind...too bad the boat is winterized.

Hey Keith,I was checking the fishing reports for Lake Clinton and one guy said the water was 80 by the discharge :) :) I don't know how he found that out since that side of the lake is closed this time of year........I'll keep you updated on the Spring Fling dates.

Hey Ray,   70 air 70 water thats awesome for this time of year...have fun out there.

Heated Lake, it would be nice to live close to one of these. I ride at Clinton a few times a year and it is a nice bonus.
When you crash the water warms you back up, pretty nice in the off season.

Its 85 here in Hawaii, not much wind either.

No foiling for us, although we feel like we took some hard runs. never relized how baddly a 4-5 foot wave can beat you up boogie boarding. First it bends you in half the pulls you under and slams your head into the bottom.

Tired and sore from five days in a row of fun in the sun here in South Florida with the water temps dipping almost to 69 one day. Still all ya need is a pair of shorts and a good rashguard. Ok I did put a suit on one time to see if my fat body still fit into it. Wind blew like crazy but it never effects the water at the ski camp.. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Even if your waters were cold ahhh or frozen.. DWP

We took advantage of the warm 62 degree day we had here in Ohio today.
That probably doesn't sound that great for you spoiled southern riders but for us in late Nov it's great.

The water is in the high 30's to low 40's depending on which lake you're at. We plan to go out again tomorrow.
The foil rode great in the cooler water temps, (wingletless front and rear wings) ... Sooo nice now that suck down is a thing of the past.

Anyone else getting to enjoy this heat wave?

Keith
