I extended the brake arm 1" on my big hub brake using 6061 aluminum X 3/16" thick. That gave me a lot more leverage on that brake and about 25% more stopping...

A two gauge set up is easier to use. a "leakage" of 2% would be damn near perfect. acceptable is 5-6%, after that power loss starts to creep into the equation....
