Got a LOT to talk about. Show up, especially if you're going to Potlatch this weekend.

We worked on two major things at Saturday's practice: the Split Stack and our new Endzone Set.

Notes on the Split Stack:

— The force-forehand stack is Stack One, and the force-backhand stack is Stack Two.
— The handlers must call which stack is active (On the line before the pull or on a reset).
— The inactive stack should be ON the sideline and must keep the field clear.
— The two people in the active stack should have most of the field to work with, so they don't have to start from the sideline.
— Handlers must be active on clearing through and dump-swinging.
— If we dump-swing to the inactive stack's side of the field, the inactive stack now becomes active.
— COMMUNICATE! Off-handlers and inactive cutters can be effective by talking.
— Teams will poach the hell out of us, whether it's handlers or front-back or from the inactive stack. We must keep them honest.

Notes on the Endzone Set:

— Three people out of the endzone, three people in a vert stack against the back of the endzone, one person ISO'd at the front of the vert stack.
— The person with the disc has two calls: 1) any number, which means he/she is looking for the ISO cutter straight away. or 2) any other Word, which means he/she is looking for a handler cut straight away.
— The person with the disc MUST make a call.
— The Number call (ISO) is more effective from the middle of the field, and the Word call (handler) is more effective from a sideline.
— The three people at the back of the stack should not cut. Their priority is to make sure they don't get poached. (in which case, you should run to an open corner or for an open dump). If the ISO'd player is shut down, he/she can cycle out and a new ISO can step up.
— BREAKS are key to this endzone set. We will NOT force any throw, but easy breaks mean easy scores.

We'll work on some handy-dandy playbook sheets a la Lawrence's awesome zone breakdown. But obviously the best way to learn this is to run it dozens of times at practice, scrimmage and tournaments.

See yall Tuesday at 4:30 at the South Fields! Wooo!
