• Andy, Ian, Shakey, Cricket, Emily and Kristine were nominated at the meeting (Jaffe declined). Nominations will still be accepted through TOMORROW (Thursday). Nominating yourself is fine.
• Once all nominations are set, I propose each nominee write a few sentences about why they'd make a good captain. The basic stuff: strengths and weaknesses, experience and leadership skills, etc. It would also help to clarify your commitment to the team. Specifically, if you have plans to go to Guam for the whole month of August, you should make your teammates aware. No deadline on these blurbs, but the earlier the better. You don't have to write one, but it'll probably affect the way people vote. I'll write my blurb later today on this thread.
• Voting starts Friday after all nominations are in. Let's set the Super Bowl (Feb. 1) as our last night to accept votes.
• You can vote for ONE or TWO or THREE people. You can vote for yourself. And, because this is America, you can also choose not to vote. Please e-mail just me with your choices.
• As for the selection process, I don't know the best way. Now that I think about it, five captains is probably too many, so let's stick with TWO, THREE or FOUR captains. Hopefully it'll be fairly obvious who gets chosen. After the Super Bowl I'll reveal the numbers with no names attached, like this:
Candidate A: 14 votes
Candidate B: 12 votes
Candidate C: 10 votes
Candidate D: 3 votes
Candidate E: 3 votes
Candidate F: 2 votes
A, B and C are the clear favorites in this example. But if it's tighter than that, we can decide what to do (e.g. a runoff).
