Year Two, baby.

Ultimate is awesome. Flagstaff is awesome. HumpFreeze is awesome. Now that the college season is winding down, the mixed club team is heating up for the summer. HumpFreeze is for serious ultimate players who want to take a step up from pickup and bond as a cohesive unit. And also to wreck other Southwest mixed teams foolish enough to stand in our way.

We're looking at 2 practices a week (see below) and 3 to 5 tournaments this summer.

Here are some goals of the team:

- To balance fun and intensity

- To compete at a high level in the Southwest

- To respect the game, our opponents and one another

- To develop team unity

- To hold at least two practices a week to do drills, talk strategy and scrimmage

- To go to 3 to 5 tournaments this summer/fall

We want to keep HumpFreeze separate from pickup. Pickup's great — I believe it's still happening on Sundays, and of course everyone's welcome to go. But we want to practice at a higher level (i.e. no beer-in-hand points) and prepare for tournaments. So let's keep pickup what is: pickup. And we'll rock it at HumpFreeze practice.

Speaking of which, practices are: Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.; Saturdays at 11 a.m. Both at the Thorpe Park fields.
