At 6pm we will have closing ceremonies at Allison Bonnett park.
It's been a wonderful season yet again. There was confusion because
of rule changes, the season seemed rushed at times because of the NSA
schedule vs the old Dixie Schedule, but we got through it. And the
girls improved as the season went on.
Last night, the 10U champion was decided. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers,
our second half champion beat the first half champion, The Bama Girls.
It was a good game and I'm sure there will be many All Stars off
those two teams.
Tonight we'll find out who won all divisions. To find out the 6U
you'll have to stay over and watch the championship game with the rest
of us!!
This season has been like that. Close games, championships, fun,
memories...
Remember the good parts of this season because that's what you should
take with you as your child grows up. The good memories...
Thanks to all of the parents who helped the board do an outstanding job.
We've got new carpet (it'll get completed as the busy season ends),
new redrock in the cages, 2 new batting machines, and around $20,000
to do improvements with for next year.
Just to let you know, the money came from fundraising. Our
registration has stayed the same for at least the last 6 years (the
time I've been here) and the fund raising this year has been the least
intrusive on our parents. I know that you'll appreciate that.
We would have to go up at least $60 per child to break even without
that fund raising. And that would not include improvements. For your
help, the 2007 board would like to thank you.
As I come to the end of my term as treasurer I personally would like
to thank you. You have made the last few years a joy. My daughters
have loved this park and it has seemed like a second home at times.
Sydney will begin as a 6U next year and I hope to have the joy of
coaching her as well, in the Hueytown Tradition.
Thank you,
Gary Wray
2007 Treasurer
