Blum's big hit lifts Astros over D-backs
Minute Maid Park (AP Photo/Jessica Kourkounis)
After the first game of the Astros' series with the Diamondbacks, manager Cecil Cooper lamented his team's inability to get the big hit when it seemingly had the opponent on the ropes.
The Astros' effort Tuesday was probably more of what Cooper was seeking. Geoff Blum's three-run double off Edgar Gonzalez in the third inning broke open a close game and led the Astros to a 6-4 win over Arizona, evening the series at Chase Field at a game apiece.
Friday night is a Coca-Cola Value Night at Minute Maid Park! For just $75 you can score 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 Cokes and 2 Astros caps with
the presentation of a label from a specially-marked 2-liter bottle of Coca-Cola product! That is $70 in savings!
Join us for the 6th Annual Race for the Pennant 5K Run/Walk and Junction Jack's Kids Fun Run on Saturday, May 31, 2008. Participants will receive an official race t-shirt, two free tickets to a 2008 Houston Astros home game and much more!
Voting for the 2008 Major League All Star is going on now! Vote early and vote often to get your favorite Astros stars like Tejada, Berkman and Lee to the Midsummer Classic this July in New York!
Help us
celebrate the 100th anniversary of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" by voting on who should lead the crowd at Minute Maid Park in front of the hometown Astros fans.
CITGO Home Run Challenge The Astros and Citgo are combining their efforts during the game on Friday, May 2 with the Citgo Home Run Challenge to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. For every home run an Astros player hits during the game, Citgo will donate $10,000 and an additional $5,000 if the Astros win the game. Come out and cheer on your Astros to help support the MDA.
Astros Ticket Specials The Houston Astros are proud
to offer a variety of single game ticket specials. For 2008, we have teamed up with some of our best sponsors to offer you the following ticket specials. Ticket specials may be purchased (depending on ticket special discount) on astros.com or at the Minute Maid Park Box Office. All ticket specials are subject to availability, valid only at time of purchase, certain restrictions apply.

Four of the six teams in the NL Central remain alive for the postseason, which means that baseball tickets are still relevant in St. Louis,
Cincinnati, Milwaukee and Houston. The final standings are far from determined both within the division and for the Wild Card, so the next couple of months are going to be extremely interesting.
