Hi there! I hope you're doing well. As you know, I love baseball, but I am fed up with the bickering between the players and the owners over how to divide up the "pie" made up of MY MONEY! So, I'm joining the MLB Fan Strike! On July 11th, I will not go to any major league game. I will not buy anything from MLB.com that day. I can live for one day without baseball to send a message! Please join me and the other MLB fans who are tired of the talk about contraction and work stoppages. If you have tickets for a game that night, tear them up and send them to your local team with a letter saying you are the one going "on strike" this time! Leave the stadiums empty! If you're ready to join in, please forward this message to ten friends and family members who love baseball, too! For more information, visit the web site at www.mlbfanstrike.com There you will find a FAQs page, message board, and much more. Get on our mailing list so we could keep you informed. We have gained attention in the media, and we believe this effort is headed in the right direction and is picking up steam. There are several other grass roots efforts calling for a strike as well. We have contacted all the ones we know about and they have agreed to join forces with us in promoting July 11th as the strike date. Traffic to All of the sites supporting this strike has been increasing steadily, and we are finding that 80% of the people we are reaching agree with us. So to those who wonder if we could pull this off, the answer is YES we can. The timing of a fan boycott has never been better, and we believe that the fans are ready to speak!!
Remember, Thursday July 11th, the first regular game after the all-star break. Go out to the park and play your own game, rent a Kevin Costner movie, or read a book on baseball, but NO MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL that day!
