WE NEED YOUR HELP -- AND IT WON'T COST A DIME!
(In fact, all it will take is an e-mail to your local officials!)

Several Clippers parents have been involved in a grassroots effort to
get the Howard County government to build a public, indoor 50-Meter
(Olympic-size) Pool/Aquatic Center, since we don't have any 50-Meter
pools in our county.

Imagine how such a facility would help the Clippers with streamlining
practice schedules and hosting meets!

As with all capital projects, our public officials need to hear that
there's a need and a demand for such a facility, if the project is to
move forward. Such a facility would not draw from public monies
(taxes) but would be funded through bonds issued by the Howard County
Revenue Authority, and loan payments on the bonds would be paid for by
user fees such as rentals by swim teams for practices and meets.

We would love it if you -- and even your swimmer -- joined our
grassroots effort to support this potentially new capital project: a
50-meter pool/Aquatic Center.

an email to local officials, and even to get ideas for key talking
points to include in your e-mail to officials! Click

through a YahooGroups website. And click

There's only a short window of opportunity to express your views to
public officials (the next Budget Hearing is March 6), so please take
advantage of the opportunity and act quickly! And please consider
attending the Budget Hearing, even if you just sit in the audience to
support our speakers!

Thank you,

Clippers Parent Advisory Board
