A meeting place for Southern California High Desert Runners, this web site is set up for planning runs, posting run pictures, planning get-togethers, and commenting on running related issues.
The pictures posted at this site will give you an idea of the terrain High Desert Runners traverse. The photo displayed to the right is from a group run done on the 31st of October. Pictured are Michele and Dave, on their first run with "the Group." The background snow and snowboarders were enjoying the Mountain High first weekend of the season on man-made snow. We were running the Pacific Crest Trail between Wrightwood and Inspiration Point, at about 7,800' elevation. There was a small patch of snow to cross.
Please post ideas of distance, type, or places - as we welcome ideas for future runs. Please post your run and see if other runners might join in. One goal with starting this club is to get runners together. Join this group today so you can run with the High Desert Runners.
In addition to planning trail runs, you can inform High Desert Runners of upcoming road races, trail races, and ultra-marathons, all of which will be added per your request.
The Pacific Crest Trail from its intersection with Highway 173 in Hesperia, through to the Silverwood ranger station is in really good condition. We haven't been toward the west, to I-15 in awhile - that is one of our upcoming 13 mile routes.
For those in a "retired" or semi-retired mode, or who can get out during weekdays, John M and Cheryl are trying to be consistent with Tuesday mornings for speed work - usually a three mile tempo run - starting at 8:00 at Spring Valley Lake Country Club parking lot.
Welcome
