I know this is a very early start and i will probably not be feeling great about this early start !! i am willing to give it a go seeing as the weather is meant to be very hot playing in a cooler part of the day might be quite a good idea ?? obviously this is only my view and we have no idea about the oppo ?? or how far they have to come to us anyway all that aside will the teams be sent via email ?? i hope so !!
I agree with Peter and don't personally have a problem starting early, if it means completing our match and watching the England game.

Just come in on the Saracens League Website from the League Committee:
FIXTURES ON SATURDAY 1st JULY: After a long deliberation we have
decided it's not feasible to suspend a cricket match for up to 2˝
hours for the sake of an event on TV. This is a cricket league and we
are convinced the majority of players will want to play, so the league
programme goes ahead as normal. The one concession offered is that if
BOTH TEAMS agree by 9pm this Wednesday, June 28, that the game should
be cancelled then they will not be penalised, but with 0 points
awarded to either team. This agreement also needs to be communicated
to the league by BOTH CLUBS either via an e-mail to
richardbayliss@... or a message left on the answerphone
at 01923 446419.
After 9pm on Wednesday, normal conditions apply under match rule 3,
final paragraph.

Dear All,
As many of you know, I will be attempting to run a marathon (26.2
miles to be precise) in Edinburgh on 11 June.
I am raising money for 'Asha for Education', a charity that is
registered in the UK that raises money for the provision of basic
education and other skills to underprivileged children.
At present please could you let me know the amount that you would like
to sponsor me for. You can either make a contribution when I come
around personally to you in the club with the sponsorships forms or
donate online at http://www.justgiving.com/anujsaush
Thanks in advance for all your support.
Regards
Anuj
It’s all on the main website now. Keep
up the good work!
Cheers

A quick message for those of you know House and Kelly
Kelly had a baby boy last night, 5 weeks early, but the baby weighed
in at a healthy 7 lb 2 oz - both mother and baby are doing well.
Mark says that they haven't had a chance to name the baby yet - I'll
find out more as soon as I can
Hi Darren
Thanks for the match report, I have added it to the main website, both
in the headlines page and the results page (Although it would be handy
if you could tell me the final scores of both teams)
Cheers
Paul
PS I have added Alex's report also - Al, many thanks

Like the 1st xi the two's also recorded their first win of the season
on sunday.
Without going inti too much detail I would just like to point out one
or two excellent performances.
Firstly, Josh Bonner. Having lost Jack to the 1st xi we really wanted
someone to come in and fill that gap and Josh has done just that. His
opening spell om sunday, against a very good side, was virtually
unplayable, well done Josh and keep it up.
May as well keep it in the family, Dan Bonner finally did what he has
been threatening to do for some time. His maiden fifty yesterday was a
special innings by a player who has also taken the gloves this year
and kept very well. I'm sure this will be the first of many big
innings for Dan, well done!
Michael Davie also had a very good afternoon, taking an important
wicket and keeping a cool head when he came in to bat with Kermit to
see us home by smacking two excellent fours.
Kevin Cowan was inspirational for the second week running. Firstly by
clean bowling their number 3 who was batting well, and then by hitting
his second consecutive fifty in usual no-nonsense aggresive manner.
Terry Welsh, Owen Brewer and Ricky P also made vital contributions to
a very satisfying win.

The latest HTCC Fantasy League table is right up to date on the main
website at www.holtwhites-trinibis.co.uk - Josh and Alan have managed
to send me the new league table by monday of each week - they have
been working incredibly hard to do this - keep up the good work lads!
And so far I have updated the website every Monday night and I hope to
do this most weeks.
You can scroll down the Fantasy League web page and see your position
on each weeks table and also see how the Team of the Week managed to
compile their points.

Can anyone help me with filling in the scores on the main website
results page, for the Saturday and Sunday 2nd xi matches, I can
remember most of the 1st xi scores, but am struggling a bit with the
other matches!
It was a cold grim day at the Holtewhites Trinibis Oval when I lost
the toss having agreed to a timed game. With youth on our side I was
confident that we could pull off our first victory of the season!
Kyal B-B opened the bowling with a very tight and tidy spell which
was just as well really as Big Uncle Tone was finding it difficult to
get his rhythm right coming up the hill. This lead to Jack Tarling
being introduced from the bottom end. Jack bowled an excellent spell
and did me a huge favour as all the bowlers on show preferred the top
end (as does Big Uncle Tone). Jack was unlucky when 2 easy chances
went down off his bowling (no names mentioned). It turned out these
were the first of many!
They were going at about 5 runs an over so in an attempt to reduce
this I brought myself on in order to try and get the pinch hitters
out. Ty replaced Kyal at the top end and he too struggled with his
rhythm he was, understandably, probably quite stiff having bowled 16
overs the day before. Thanks to a cracking catch by Big Uncle Tone
in the gully we got the wickets that we needed to reduce the run rate
and Liam was brought into the attack. Liam bowled really well
getting his first wicket of the season with the first ball he bowled
and later in the spell another one thanks to good bowling with good
keeping by taffy. Jack then replaced Ty at the top end and was
unlucky not to get a wicket or two. The Wadham number 6 entered into
the game and proceeded to hit a quickfire 50 using so many lives that
he probably made even Blighter jealous!!! They eventually declared
on 232 for 7 or 8 (I think… sorry doing this from memory) at 5:00.
Half an hour was taken for tea when I would have preferred 20 minutes
given the amount of time they had left us. It turned out that we
would have had 33 overs at a rate of 7 runs per over. Enter Blighter
and Taffy. With time against us we needed a good start this was
achieved by Taffy who managed to outscore Blighter until strangely
they were both on 69 (I shan't repeat the question of the day that
Taffy asked Blighter). The most impressive part about this
partnership was that neither of them panicked and it was paced
amazingly well. Unfortunately Wadham didn't really understand the
concept of the timed game and as a result had a handful of players on
the boundary within just a few overs. This meant that unless a poor
shot was played then they wouldn't get us out. Taffy was out in the
70's (can't remember how many exactly) and Kyal B-B came to the
crease. Paul then hit 2 sixes in consecutive deliveries by advancing
down the track to their quickie and we were back up with the rate.
Kyal nurdled the ball around feeding the strike to Blighter…
excellent stuff. We managed to win with an over and 2 balls to spare
when Kyal hit a four when we needed 3 to win. Paul scoring his
second hundred of the season. A truly excellent performance from
Taffy, Blighter and Kyal it was a pleasure to watch.
Just as a sideline. Upon inspection of their book they had scored
incorrectly and only awarded themselves 4 runs on wides (of which
there were plenty) that had gone for 4 instead of 5 (this meant that
any other runs that might have been added in this way were probably
missed too). Still their declaration took this into account.
Lessons Learned: Fielding practice tomorrow night for all the first
team. No excuses other than death will be accepted!! Only joking
but I'd like to see as many people as possible there tomorrow at 6:30
(watch this space as there might be a colts match and it may be
rearranged).
I will try and do a report although it might prove difficult with
being busy at work.

The Week one League table for the 2006 HTCC Fantasy Cricket Game has
been posted on the main HTCC website at the following address (Just

Updates will follow as soon as I receive them
I agree a great start to the season - but colts no more though, the way these
lads are applying themselves, they are proving to be young 'senior' players -
keep up the practice and hard work and you'll be scoring 50's and
taking 5 fors
in no time lads!
Well done to Mikey for his new top score of 22 not out! Great effort
yesterday.
And I must mention Pat, Captaining his first game of his new reign and taking
the gloves unexpectedly at last minute, well done - a winning start and an
enjoyable game - hope the quads are ok!
