GIGUERE AVAILABLE FOR TRADE
DUCKS WOULD ENTERTAIN OFFERS
The Anaheim Mighty Ducks have announced that they are willing to listen to any trade offers for the somewhat controversial goalie JS Giguere. Giguere’s card or stats lists his GAA as 2.62 and a save% of .914 with 55 games. He has played 14 games so far this season and is scheduled to play 6 games in block 3 which would leave him with 35 games for the remainder of the season. You can check his current stats under his name in the game. The Ducks are interested in a scoring forward, but will consider any offers. The option of expanding the trade is a possibility.
Things to Ponder: Did you ever think that the reason Buffaloes don’t have wings is because the Sports bars stole all of them?
This is Thom Ayers reporting from The Pond. Film at eleven.

GIGUERE UPSET BY INTERVIEW
DEMANDS TRADE
JS Giguere was very upset over hearing the comments of Ducks owner Anna Heim, and issued some comments of his own in the form of a demand to be traded. His agent, Seymour Goalls asked to meet with Ducks’ management to facilitate his request. As of this writing no meeting has taken place.
Things to Ponder: Do you think if Reed Low, Colton Orr and Dan Hinote opened up a music shop, they would name it “Low-Orr-Hinote Music?”
This is Thom Ayers reporting from The Pond. Film at eleven.
Craig (Montreal) has checked in and is having computer problems. So
much so that he ordered a new copy of the game. I am going to autoplay
his games today and upload the database when complete.
I'd like new CM's for Block 3 by Monday. If you dont have any changes,
please let me know to keep the exisiting CM.
Its looking a lot like no hockey this year in the NHL. In case you
didnt hear, Trevor Linden said the NHL told him that they will hold some
kind of dispersal draft after the salary cap is in place. This would
spread the salaries out among the teams. Obviously this would have a
significant impact on our league so we will address that when the time
comes.
When the season is officially cancelled we'll get into what to do next
year again.

AN INTERVIEW WITH ANNA HEIM
DUCKS’ OWNER SPEAKS OUT
Ducks owner Anna Heim sat down with reporters from The Daily Duck and discussed the team. Significant segments of the interview went as follows.
Reporter: The team is 7-9-4 after two blocks, what do you think of its performance so far?
Ms Heim: Well, we are not very happy at this point. We picked up Trent Hunter, Kenny Jonsson and Shawn Horcoff in the draft and the scoring has not been bad, but the goaltending has let us down.
Reporter: Any goalie in particular?
Ms Heim: I will just say Martin Gerber has done a good job.
Reporter: Any comment on JS Giguere?
Ms Heim: I’d like to save my comments, and at the same time wish JS had made more saves.
Reporter: Is he on the trading block?
Ms Heim: Those decisions belong to Pat Ver Beak. I do think that JS has to work on “saving” his job, or he could be available for trade.
Reporter: Do you think that the HBMHL will have a lockout?
Ms Heim: No, but I have considered locking out JS.
Reporter: Mike LeClerc is out for the season and Rob Niedermayer is coming back from an injury. Are there any other Ducks with broken wings?
Ms Heim: Sandis Ozolinsh will be back soon. LeClerc should be our only lengthy loss.
Reporter: Is there any truth to the rumor Ozolinsh is on the block?
Ms Heim: Again, all trading is left up to Pat Ver Beak. Ozolinsh is somewhat of an extra.
Reporter: Overall, how do you like the Ducks’ chances this year.
Ms Heim: Well only seven points separate the six teams in the division. The Sharks and Coyotes look like the teams to beat. However, I expect the Flames to keep things hot, and the Canucks are strong contenders, too. I would say it is still anybody’s race.
Well it appears that the Ducks’ owner is not thrilled with the team, but she still has hope.
Will Giguere and Ozolinsh be trade bait? Stay tuned as the Ducks try to regroup.
Things to Ponder: Rick Tochett was a Flyer a couple of times. Does he qualify for frequent Flyer miles???
This is Thom Ayers reporting from The Pond. Film at eleven.
I'm only missing Montreals 5 games before we can close out block 2.
I've sent Craig a private e-mail inquiring about them. I'll autoplay
them if need be.
Boston, It appears you used an old database as the players used in your
home games didnt match the computer managers. I've allowed the games to
stand for this block but they will need to be replayed if this happens
in the future.
Columbus has sent notice that he will be returning from Iraq and will be
home by mid February. He intends to take over his team full time at
that point. Welcome back Chris, take care of yourself until then.
New Jersey is currently open and under the control of Anaheim until a
new coach can be found.
Vancouver has withdrawn his resignation and will try to muddle through.
We will give him any help he needs as he is in the process of moving,
I think he said to Colorado.
Last but not least - the standings... Horrible month for my Flyers.
Bizarre stat of the month - Flyers PP at home - 17% Fyers PP on the
road - 32%!
Database will be uploaded after Montreal games. If I havent heard
anything by Sunday I will autoplay the games.

Raycroft was excellent and Osgood was human in a game which was much closer that the final score indicated. The Blues killed off a 5 on 3 power play in the first, and controlled the second after Rod Brind'Amour' s breakaway goal 0:29 into the second frame. However the third period was totally B's, with tons of good scoring chances. Joe Thornton got the hat trick. The three stars:
1. Joe Thornton - hat trick
2. Andrew Raycroft - 27 saves
3. P. J. Axelsson - +3, A

This was a bruising game for the Bruins as the Islanders dealt out a lot of physical punishment in front of their goal, repeatedly denying Boston good scoring chances. Darius Kasparitis opened the scoring on a penalty shot (!), and the teams exchanged goals, with Ladislav Nagy scoring the winner in the third. The three stars:
1. Anytime Kaspar the friendly ghost scores, especially on a penalty shot, he should get the first star. Plus, he was all over the ice drawing penalties and dishing out punishment as only he can do.
2. Ladislav Nagy - GWG, A
3. Boris Mironov - 2 TA, 1 hit

This was NOT a game to have the man advantage in as 3 of the 4 goals were scored shorthanded. Despite outplaying New Jersey in the first, the B's were down 2-0 courtesy of 2 SHG's by Elias. Donato answered with his own SHG in the 2nd. Down a goal, Boston came out flying in the third, but Brodeur had all the answers until Travis Green scored the tying goal on a lucky shot from the point at 18:39. Brodeur saved the game in OT for the Devils, making an acrobatic spilt number save on a Dan McGillis breakaway. The three stars:
1. Patrik Elias - 2 SHG
2. Travis Green - GTG
3. Scott Niedermayer - A, +1, 2 hits, 2 TA

Atlanta explodes for 4 third period goals and completes the wildest comeback in team history as the Thrashers win 4-3 over the Blues. Trailing 3-0 to start the third, Jean-Pierre Vigier gets his first goal of the year just 3 minutes in. Randy Robitaille scores his first of the year 3 1/2 minutes later to bring the Thrashers to within one goal. Ilya Kovalchuk tied the game 2 minutes later with his 14th of the year. Then, with just 3:30 left in regulation, Andy Sutton notched his 1st goal of the year to get the win for the Thrashers. Keith Tkachuk, Dallas Drake, and Jamal Mayers scored goals for the Blues.

Just a reminder, the deadline is tomorrow for block 2 games. I'll send
out a list of who we are waiting on tomorrow.
The Devils are now coachless so I'll be looking for a new manager.
The Blues defeated the Devils in an OT thriller, by the score of 4-3. STL gained a 3-1 lead early in the third, only to see NJ come back to force the OT session. Bryan Gionta, of the Devils, tied the game with less than a minute remaining in regulation. But the Blues rebounded and the happy STL fans serenaded the Savvis Center with the happy chants of "Mariusz, Mariusz, Mariusz" as Czerkawski's 5th goal of the season won the game for the Blues. He scored with 1:50 left in OT. STL finishes the home portion of block 2 with 3-2 record.
I would be more than happy to play NetPlay for any of the games my Blues play on the road. Just send me an email or post a message!
Dale, STL

The computer benefitted from the its' morning skate, as CMB connected on 3 of 5 goalie ratings (rolled the 9 three times!) while Marc Denis stopped all four GR chances he faced. STL is now 2-2 at home this block with one remaining game vs NJ.
I would gladly play via NetPlay against any of the teams that host STL. Those teams are: Nash, Van, ATL, and BOS.
