It was the only move I made and only because I was 2 games short on
LD. I think Harrsion was on my copy of the Calgary "Plan" I sent you
the other day, but he would be near the bottom. All other personnel
are as I took over the team.

Colorado votes yes to the proposal, but I too would like to see the determination of who gets what free agent to be by reverse order of finish in the prior year. Each team would have to pass on selections before the next could select from worst to best.
Great, thanks for the heads up. So I have
Jay Harrison now.

Eric,
Carsen Germyn is a Lightning. Mark needed a d-man so we made a
trade just prior to your arrival. (Jay Harrison for Carsen Germyn.)
It has already been announced to the league.

Let's have an immediate vote on a rule change proposal.
You can pick up a Free Agent during the season for $.25 per block used.
That Player is a Free Agent again at the end of the Year.
That Player is not eligible for the playoffs.
If you are already at 35 Players then another Player has to be dropped in to the
Free Agent Pool.
Maximum of 3 Free Agent Pick Ups per Team per Year.
First come, first served for claims.
The claim has to be in by the trade deadline for the following block.
The Player is eligible starting with the next block.
Simple Majority Vote, 13 to Pass or Fail.
This is for this year only. We will have our Rules Committee propose this rule or a modification of it, for passage in to the League Constitution.

Same old same old for Ottawa:
Opposing goalie stands on his head - Luongo 10/11 Ratings (Plus 2 more
in shootout)
Huet Sucks - 2/5 Ratings
This time we go to a shootout thanks to a 1-15 # stop by Huet in OT.
Luongo made two rating stops in OT as well.
In the shootout it was all 8's to decide the game as Daniel Alfredsson
scores in the first sudden death pairing.

One reason is I don't like the idea of changing rules mid-year. The second is I don't have the ability to devote the time to tracking the progress of all the free agents to make these decisions. I work out of the house and out of an office, I'm at schools or doing home-based physical therapy all day. I get a couple nights a week, at most, to put into playing the games, tracking what's going on etc. I'd be at a serious competitive disadvantage with managers who can devote that much extra time.

I don't like changing the rules mid-season and it seems there was ample opportunity to make sure you have all your games covered between the draft and free agency period.
I can't imagine it would be too hard for anyone to swing a deal for any missing games for some extra $.

TampaBay votes NO. We shouldn’t be changing rules mid-stream. Someone will need to track the free agents when they are claimed, released and how much money. It also creates a problem if two people claim the same player at the same time. I think there is a problem with only a few games. (I could be wrong, but I think 5.) Mark just came in the league and was a few games short and he traded to get the games. It won’t take a major trade to solve the problem. What 25 or 50 cents or a 6th pick? Why make things complicated mid-stream. If it’s a situation that is unique the Commish can make an exception and give a player to the team for the season.
