Subject: [HBLeague] No heat, no power, no internet

Our
power went out in the middle of the ice storm at 5 PM on Tuesday, and has not
been back on since. We have a wood burning stove and were using that to heat the
house (if you want to call it that), and stayed two nights at home. However,
Thursday night at 4:15 AM our smoke alarm went off. Though we could see no smoke
or fire nor feel any warmth in the chimney, we called the fire department, as
this was an ideal setup for a bad fire. The fire department came, checked
everything out, and everything was fine, but when they tried to leave they got
stuck, as there was a 1” sheet of ice on the driveway. (We live a half mile off
the main road on top of a pretty good sized hill; max gradient is 6%). The
county road department had to come with a backhoe and pull the fire truck out.
That was it for us, we left that afternoon, with the temperature 42 downstairs
and 46 upstairs. I have been spending most of my time keeping the wood burning
stove going so the pipes don’t freeze, as well as feeding horses in sub freezing
weather. We have just entered day 6 without power.

Please autoplay my block 6 games. If someone would be so kind as to send me a usage report and a set of standings at the end of the block, I can give someone instructions on a CM for block 7.

Thanks,
Mike
BOS
