I loved wrestling -all forums; -& for lots of different reasons! Early on, I also knew that I was into guys: Hot, muscular, aggressive, hunky, physical types who loved to wrestle too. And the secret to getting the hottest guys is to never let on that you "love guys". It was all about total respect & self image. So, I hid in 'my jock' behind locker-room conversation. I had lots of friends & found a few guys like me -who preferred the company of athletic guys. While our school had a 'GLIB' group, -none of us wanted any association with it. No thanks! Guys don't EVER treat guys like chicks. Guys don't do the butt-nasty nor play the "female role". Any guy who had a pair (& reputation) didn't hang out with the "gay-friends" crowd for any reason. Maybe this has changed over time & certainly with geography; -but where I grew up: Being a "homo" was to be labeled a "loser"; -as a guy ill-equipped to handle life as a man. We were guys who knew we were guys. We didn't have illusions about "maybe being intergendered". We were guys. And we happened to love other guys in all the ways that guys love. Get it? The "GAY community" was too busy "enbracing diversity". Phreaks! So, my buds & I hooked up on the mats. Eventually -we had a way of touching that was our signature: A firm, gentle grip that lingered just a few moments longer than you might otherwise expect. When we'd move a hand over an opponent's body to seek another grip, -it would always be respectful -but in such a way as to make as much casual contact as possible. Always be the better opponent. Always respect your other. Always offer a hand up or a back-pat of acceptance. Compliment - never curse. Demonstrate discretion. And use 1-on-1 time as a setting to make any excuse to initiate physical contact. You'll find like-minded guys! It's called "G0Y" (spelled w. a zer0), -not "gAy".
