Re: WTB Waterproof panniers and gt3 handlebars/grabbars

As for as Grab Bars, I think they are not needed if one mounts and
dismounts side saddle. By placing the back of one leg, normally the
right leg, beside the seat, the left foot in front of the cruciform and
then sitting down carefully over the top of the USS handle bar one can
get into and out of the rig WITHOUT plopping into the seat and over
stressing the fabric and out with at least one leg to lift your weight.
This technique is mandatory for those using a long wind fairing and is
very convenient once learned. Sure, you have to move your feet and legs
once seated, hopefully you are not too fat to do that.

As to panniers, most are for 26" wheel upright bikes. All seem to be
expensive. I used folding wire baskets for years. Even covered them
with Coroplast for wet winter use. But 7 months ago sprung for the Arkel
RT60 panniers. Yes, the cost hurt, but the ease of access and extra
capacity is great for just plain grocery hauling too.

Does anyone has any extra panniers or gt3 grabbars they are willing to part with for a reasonable price? Thanks....
