Wheel Weights, I assume that would depend upon which grade of wheel and
machine you have? I doubt that it would make much difference in shipping
charges or cycle resistance. The difference is in rolling resistance and
traction. The greater the diameter the less the angle of incidence and
larger the contact area. Of course if you have a very sticky tread on a
course chip seal pavement the large surface is a hindrance. In the case
of the road margin rumble strips the easier the contact angle and more
bars you can span the less the impact.
Your gearing takes care of the difference in diameters for crank
resistance. That is why the Gear Inch is a nice comparison measure.
