Personally, I would recommend the GTO, because of the larger wheel size and the
wider range gearing made available due to the 3-speed internal Dual-Drive hub.
The newer Dual Drive hubs shift better under pressure and are more reliable than
the older Dual Drives. I took my GTO on Ride the Rockies this summer and found
it to be a great bike for touring in mountainous terrain due to the wide gearing
range. I also agree with the comment about 20" front wheels coping with rumble
strips better than 16" wheels. Good luck!
