My GTO was ordered as HD but when we measured the tube diameter and S&S
it was not, so we ordered a standard replacement. And it too was
slightly larger in diameter tubing. So somewhere along the line there
are some variations.

Where on Hoods Canal does your mother live? I spent 3 summers over there
in the early 50s. Plus several Scout camp sessions before that.
Beautiful area but I hear it is becoming over run with retirees. When I
retired 20 years ago I decided to stay a little closer to a main travel
route. I'm apx. half way between Seattle and Vancouver BC.
