Chain Tube Problems   Message List

Has anyone had chain tube problems?

My upper tube has worked loose 3 times now and slides into the chainwheel
where it halts peddling. Once the whole chain tube assembly slid and all
I had to do was slide the lower tube back aft. This time the upper tube
came clear out of the clamp.

I had no problem with the tubes on my 2004 GTR in over 2000 miles. This
power assist 2007 (06?) GTO is not the machine of the old one. Or is it
the 50% increase of average speed wearing out the mechanisms faster?

While we are on the subject of chains, does anyone have any experience
with the chain cleaning bath devices? Do they work while the chain is on
the vehicle? Are they worth the expense and bother?

Sincerely, D. J. Brown, DBOG <:-)#<<=

Thanks Jim, you are exactly right. Brought it the bike shop and they've corrected the same error and everything seems to be a-okay. Now if I only knew how to...
