I understand some electric motors for bicycles and tricycles can be
used to assist (rather than replace) peddling. If so, that might
provide a way for my wife to keep up with me on rides without us
having to buy a tandem trike. Her usual speed on her GT3 is 8 MPH, and
the minimum speed for the slow group in our local bike club ia 10 MPH.
That group's rides average 10 miles, so we'd be looking for a motor
and battery that could add at least 2 MPH to her speed for at least 10
miles. Has anyone ever done such a thing to a GT3? If so, was it a
good idea?
