There you go that will prompt me into a quick update.

1. I have just landed back form a trip over the Western Cape Route.  Wow that is fabulous country.  This weather was sparkling, the landscapes green – cant speak highly enough of the route.  We seem to finding more gravel roads when avoiding busy bits – its getting close to half the route now.  Most of it is comfortable gravel but there are some rough spots.  So I am contemplating fatter tyres and maybe even switching to a 26” configuration.  What do others think?
2. Options options.  Many of the days have some lovely side options for folk who want a short cut or a long cut.  I hope to get around to suggesting these and uploading soon.
3. Having some great meetings for the Green Mamba Project (formerly Calitzdorp Project).  Hoping to do lots of containers this year and to invite ride entrants to participate more in this aspect.  Met with a bunch of my favorite bicycle nutters in Melbourne who put together a super alternative.  I learnt that over the years the sturdy one speed I rode as a kid has disappeared and is nto really made
4. We are having some fun with the Walk section to Greyton.  I was advised informally that it would be not problem.  Not quite the case.  Will be doing the walk myself this weekend and looking at the alternatives – another walk to the east and a pedal around.
5. Found a super alternative into Swellendam through a Bontebok Park.  Not approved yet but they sounded keen.
6. I was up in Mpum last weekend.  I am still fascinated by the region.  Its like a different country.  The roads are different the people different, the weather different (darn cold at night eh).  The route details are coming along well – found a lovely pedal for the last day.  I have a pike stashe up there and am hoping to pedal the route some time soon.

So there –this list is not quite dormant.
