2. "Don't Hurry – Be Happy" bike ride on 13th May 07
· Several riding groups have morphed out of the ride – we are aware of five groups of folk who met on the ride and catch up regularly. Maybe there are others who would like to organise a small local ride – not timed, ride as group, have cake and a sip half way… sure you get the drill. So we have scheduled our very first of these and called it "Don't Hurry – Be Happy". Here's the details and If you want to run a ride and invite others, then drop us an email to information@...
· No cost and no support
· no timing chips
· Attire – sloppy casual (spandex only if you must).
· Distance: a tad over 20 kms
· Route at http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/WestlakeRoute - Westlakes along Boyes Drive, snack at Fishoek, inland and then over our favourite hill and back to Westlakes
· Compulsory stop in Fishoek for a sip and snack
· Bring all you need to get you out of all the trouble you might get into
· Neil will lead – super fellow, long history in bikes and just loves to help people pedal more
· Register your interest by emailing information@... and place "Don't hurry, be happy" in subject line. Please include your name and mobile phone number.
3. You can enter online now
Entry to both Great Rides are now available online at www.greateventcompany.com.
Pay a deposit to secure your place and your free bike now. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call the office on +21 674 2266 or contact anyone from the Great Event team information@....
4. Bikely.com
http://www.bikely.com – the clever computer folk would have picked up the link to this site with the map of the "Don't Hurry – Be Happy" ride what a cool site – you can find out other people's favourite rides and even upload your own.
5. Do you know your local bike shop or Virgin Active Club?
We have sent out our brochures to bike shops and Virgin Active Clubs. Sometimes they run out and forget to phone us – sad but true. So if you see one that needs some more, please give us a tingle and if you know of a café or workplace tea room that could use some of our lovely propaganda then please phone or email us at information@.... Thank you.
6. Naked bike ride video
I remember having a debate with my marketing lecturer who reckoned that sex can sell everything and anything. So to pay homage to my studies, here is this wacky story with footage of a naked bike ride in the USA with a stunningly awful song – should warn you that footage may offend some – they really are naked! – and you will have to register to confirm that you are over 18 yrs of age.
(Note: if you have a slow connection, the video may start and stop often which can be very annoying. To avoid this, press the pause button, and then watch it store up in the buffer, and then press play.)

7. Room to Breathe
Lots of you will recall that our hearts are driven to help build a world that makes it easy for lots of people to cycle more. It's happening all over the world and there are moves in South Africa. It's a huge task and there is lots to do. Here is a wonderful short video on some strategies and ideas happening in NY – the biggest city in the spiritual home of the motor car.
(Note: if you have a slow connection, the video may start and stop often which can be very annoying. To avoid this, press the pause button, and then watch it store up in the buffer, and then press play.)

Great Event Company
We aspire to a place where people work on projects that improve other's lives. We love bicycles and cycling. Imagine people's lives if they rode their bicycle more: their health and fitness, the environment, the impact on infrastructure, the economic ease of transport, the freedom, through the pure enjoyment of cycling.
