Hi all

The gwcbr discussion group, although essentially the same
leopard, is going to shift its spots ever so slightly.. to become
more generic.

The group was started to give would-be participants in the
inaugural Great Western Cape Bike Ride an opportunity to share
ideas and information. We all know what a jol that turned out to
be. Now the Great Event Company is busy organising two further
tours, as you should know by now: a second Great Western Cape
Bike Ride (but on a different route) in November and a Great
Mpumalanga Bike Ride next year in April. The idea is to change
the gwcbr discussion group into a more general forum where all
cycling tours organised by the Great Event Company can be
discussed.

Some of the changes are fairly minor, such as the website
introduction, but we'll also have to change the name of the
discussion group. This has a few implications:

- You will no longer receive mail from the gwcbr group but from
a new name.
- You will have to update filters in your mail application if
you've used the group name to move discussion group mail into a
separate folder.
- You will have to use a new address to send messages to the
discussion group.

I don't know what the new name will be yet; I'll have to see what
is still available. I'm going to try something like
GreatCycling. Whatever it turns out to be, you'll be notified by
the mail server. Once I've updated the discussion group FAQ I'll
send out a copy as well.

So.. eyes on the road, hands on handlebars.. here we go!
