FRIDAY NIGHT ICE SKATING - Meet at 6:30 p.m. at the North Toronto
Rink. This rink has a separate rink for hockey. For those who are
interested, bring a hockey stick to pick up a game. To get there by
TTC get off at Eglinton Subway station, walk 3.5 blocks west on the
north side of Eglinton to the North Toronto Memorial Community Centre.
The rink is located behind the centre. As usual we'll skate for 90
minutes and then head to a nearby restaurant. There is free parking
behind the community centre. On Eglinton, turn north on Edith Dr and
first left to get to the parking lot.
Hi Everyone,
I will be there this Friday night. Last Friday we went to the rink
at Greenwood Ave and Dundas Street East. After we went to an
IndoCaribean eatery on Gerrard at Greenwood for rotis and brewskies.
At the north Toronto ice rink, we usually go to Shoeless Joes or the
Queens' Leg pub afterwards. There is no easy way to get here from the
QEW or 401 as it is in the middle of the city. However if you're in
the city on business, bring your skates along and after skating and
dinner, there will be no traffic to speak of homewardbound. This tbn
activity is the only one where no membership card or day fee is
required; we skate at a public rink and eat at a public restaurant.
Hope to see some gcbt members there.
