Barefoot Rugby League Show is back - 2009 will see some changes for the Barefoot Rugby League Show, but of course we'll still be covering rugby league games from grassroots to NRL nationwide. The QLD Cup, VB Cup and Bundy Cup will feature a regular segment each week along with all your favourite segments from last year including the ever popular 'Song of the Week'. Each week the panel will be joined by a surprise Special Guest from the rugby league world.

Jordan Atkins even hungrier in 2009 - High-flying winger Jordan Atkins says he is even hungrier to become a mainstay of the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans backline this season. Schoolboy 9s tournament St Mary's Western Weekender Stadium - Schoolboy Rugby League continues today with hundreds of kids from schools all over Sydney converge on St Mary's Western Weekender Stadium for the Schoolboy 9s tournament. The annual event will see almost 400 junior players from 30 schools competing again today in competition, the category a today is "general schools" day.

It's cool for Wakefield Wildcats - John Kear says the Wakefield Wildcats will not be resting on their laurels after taking the scalp of Wigan in the opening round of Super League XIV. Last weekend's12-6 win at the JJB Stadium got the Wildcats' season off to a flying start and coach Kear insists his side are a match for anybody on their day.

Deal gives Brian Smith at least one extra year - Knights coach Brian Smith is expected to sign a contract extension by the end of the week that would guarantee him at least one more year in Newcastle. Smith's existing three-year contract expires at the end of this season and the new deal is believed to be for the 2010 NRL season. A performance-activated clause will include 2011 if the Knights reach the top four this year.
