St.Christophers RLFC seeks U/19 players for season 2009 - St.Christophers JRLFC compete in the Canterbury District Junior Rugby League. In 2009 Canterbury DJRL is staging an U/19s competition and for the first time the Saints are looking to field a team in this competition. NEWS - Shane Flanagan overlooked for Parramatta Eels coaching job - Cronulla assistant coach Shane Flanagan has been overlooked for an interview for the Parramatta coaching job with Daniel Anderson firming as favourite. Flanagan nominated to replace Michael Hagan but it appears the contenders are Anderson and the club's two assistants, David Fairleigh and Matt Cameron.

Ireland 34 Samoa 16 - If you think the prospect of Ireland beating Australia in a World Cup semi-final is some sort of poor Irish joke, Wolfhounds forward Wayne Kerr says you should think again. One of just four players from the country's fledgling domestic competition, Kerr said last night's shock 34-16 defeat of Samoa would generate interest at home, and if the Wolfhounds overcome Fiji in next Monday night's semi-final play-off to set up a showdown with the Kangaroos, it would be a massive boost to the code in Ireland.
