Origin's walking wounded are prepared to back up
Knights hooker Danny Buderus pulled up "better than expected" from Wednesday night's Origin I and is rated a strong chance of backing up tonight against St George Illawarra.
But Knights coach Michael Hagan will decide today whether he and Steve Simpson will play. "I think Danny will probably be all right," he said. There is concern over five-eighth Jarrod Mullen, who suffered a broken hand in the Origin curtain-raiser.
"We'll just have to assess whether he can play with it," Hagan said. Dragons coach Nathan Brown said his side would be as named, and Mark Gasnier would play.

SACKED Cronulla hooker Tevita Latu may have a number of playing options despite being deregistered by the NRL for assaulting a 19-year-old woman - including an alcohol-free rugby union club in New Zealand that is interested in recruiting him.
Arataki coach Greg Doolan contacted Sin Bin this week wanting to know how to get in touch with Latu and believes he may help promote the Bay of Plenty club's cause. Doolan - an Australian who has also coached rugby union in the US, Canada and South Africa - believes that alcohol is the cause of most off-field incidents in sports and is determined to change the culture.
Wellington Orcas coach Paul Bergman is also keen to talk to Latu about playing in New Zealand's domestic league competition. The NZRL is yet to decide whether the 24-year-old former international's ban would extend to the Bartercard Cup.

The 'Get Out' Sets
With Glenn Bayliss and Rick Stone
OK, your team needs ball possession and the opposition have just kicked it to you. However, you are back in the danger zone, on your own line and close to the side line.
What are your players going to do?
How are they going to manage the 'Get Out' sets?
They are going to need structured plays to handle the pressure, 'get out' and be in good field position to apply their own pressure by the end of the six.
Hull coach, Peter Sharp, talks of moving the ball from the corner post to the middle of the 50 metre line.
"There is a lot of football to be played there," he says.
RLCM spoke with the QRL's Glenn Bayliss and Newcastle assistant coach Rick Stone to get a successful coach's thoughts on 'Get Out' sets.
Glenn Bayliss begins by saying that you need to look at what each team is trying to accomplish.
The side kicking the ball is attempting to gain the advantage by putting the ball as far down field as possible. Ideally, they are aiming to trap the defending team in-goal.
If not, they will try to keep the opposition pinned close to their line and force an error to regain possession.
In some circumstances, such as running with a strong wind they may not be too disappointed if the ball rolls dead. They can then set their defence in a controlled fashion for a restart on the 20 metre line.
This may be a better option than having to contend with a Lockyer type with room to move.
For the same reason they will avoid kicking to the centre of the field as their defence will not only have to cover the running fullback or winger but will be split to cover both sides of the field.
If the ball is kicked to the left or right side, their line can be condensed and a more vigorous defence can be inflicted on the opposition runners attempting to bring the ball out.(i.e. The attack side has limited options).
In short then, a good attacking team is going to be kicking to:
a) the in-goal area
b) the imaginary box bordered by the try line and 10m to 15m in from the side line
c) the left or right side of the field.
The side receiving the ball has the task of 'getting out' of the danger zone.
Having evaded being tackled with the ball in the ingoal or gathered the ball safely near the side line, the 'Get Out' set begins. The primary aim is to gain positive field position before kicking or running the ball on the fifth tackle and then creating their own pressure.
