The South Australian Rugby League are calling for persons interested in applying for the following positions for representative teams for 2006.

All Coaches applying must have completed the minimum Level 1 Coaching
Certificate and Sports Trainers the minimum Level 1 Sports Trainers

Catalans Opt for English Training  
 
Super League newcomers Catalans Dragons are spending the final week of their pre-season training in Manchester.
 
While 10 of the other 11 Super League clubs have been warm-weather training, the French-based Dragons have been getting used to English conditions.

"It's about getting players used to the surroundings," said chief executive Grant Mayer. "We're probably going to be in the UK 15 times this year.

"It's important we get used to the travel, hotels and food."

The Dragons have suffered defeats in both their pre-season friendlies, one of them a nine-try thrashing by Harlequins.

But captain Stacey Jones insists they will be ready to take on Wigan in their first match at Stade Aime Giral a week on Saturday.

"It would have been great to have done better and won those games to get some confidence going in, but we know where we're going and where we need to get to," he said.

"We've got a lot of work to do. We're going to put a good team into the competition and it's going to improve each week."

On Wednesday, the club unveiled a sponsorship deal with airline bmibaby, who will start daily direct flights from Manchester to Perpignan in March.

The Dragons also plan to announce a pay-per-view television deal for their entire home programme next week, while season ticket sales are approaching 1,000.

Meanwhile, director of football David Waite has drawn up a shortlist of candidates for the vacant coaching position and the club intends to carry out interviews later this week.

 Lamb Lends a Hand 
 
Bulldogs' legend Terry Lamb is back at Belmore after five years away.

While he is employed in sales and marketing, he will also have a part-time coaching role.

He will assist the club's playmakers, passing on some of the strategies that made him such an effective five-eighth during his playing prime.

Lamb has been working with players like Brent Sherwin and Daniel Holdsworth for the past three weeks.

He told The Daily Telegraph he felt he was 'back where he belonged."

"I left for a couple of years to take up some other opportunities but now I am back where I belong and it feels great."

"I never wanted to leave but I had an opportunity to coach an NRL side and I had to take it."

"It seems as nothing has really changed and I am really excited about this year."

With the loss of Braith Anasta to the Roosters, Lamb has been working with the club's ball players to form a solid partnership.

"We have to make sure that they get on really well and then work on technique."

"Once they start playing footy I will be able to pick up the little things they are doing on the field and work on it."

"It's a bit hard now because we don't know who will be with Brent [Sherwin] because we haven't seen anyone play."

Lamb said a good partnership in the halves was one of the most important things in league.

"It's the difference between winning and losing," he said.
