The Wests Tigers will start a busy preseason with a trial match against a New South Wales country rugby league side in Gunnedah on Friday night.
The National Rugby League premiers will then fly to England on Sunday for next weekend's World Club Challenge match against Bradford.
Tigers forward Ben Galea said the team had worked hard in the off-season in preparation for the clash with the English champions.
"It is something that the coach has put forward that he really wants us to go over there and win the game," he said.
"Everyone is going to be doing their best [to] try and bring the trophy back over this way for once."
Galea promised the Tigers would continue to play with the same attacking flair that saw them win last year's grand final.
He said while there were a number of new faces in the team, the side would not stray from a successful formula.
"I think we'll probably play the same style of game that we used last year. It worked for us well," he said.
"We've always got the guys with a bit of lair and bit of flair with Benji and Princey in there, so I am sure those guys won't change too much."

Super League XI kicks off on Friday February 10 with Hull v Castleford, live on Sky Sports 1 (7.30pm)
Brian Noble insists he has lost none of his motivation as he prepares to try and lead defending champions Bradford to a sixth successive Grand Final.
The Bulls coach has never missed out on an end-of-season trip to Old Trafford, but he recognises that Super League XI is likely to be the most competitive so far.
"I've no aspirations to do anything other than coach at Bradford," said Noble, dismissing speculation that he plans to step up to a director of rugby role at Odsal, to be replaced as coach by his assistant Steve McNamara. Noble has a contract at Bradford until the end of the 2007 season
"As every year goes by it gets harder and harder to reach the Grand Final, but it's important that you don't look that far ahead. There are 28 rounds and then the play-offs games.
"We've got a very motivated group of people. I expect us to be as tough as we've ever been - but I expect the competition to be tough.
"The challenge for every team is keeping your `horses' healthy and making sure they are healthy at the business end."
Noble - who also doubles as Great Britain coach - points to the salary cap as the key to a competitive Super League.
"I think the RFL are getting to where they want to be - parity," he added. "They want everybody playing off a level playing field.
"That's the reason for the salary cap. If you look at what London have done and the quality of recruitment of the French team - Terry Matterson is excited about what Castleford have got - it's difficult to pick out a weak team.
"If you look at the recruitment of other teams it's very exciting for the competition."
The NZ Rugby League and Kiwis coach Brian McClennan are in talks aimed at extending his contract through the next three seasons to include the All Golds tour to England and the World Cup.
"I would hate to stand in the road of anything that would help continue the success the Kiwis enjoyed last year," said NZRL chairman Selwyn Pearson.
The main issue is the amount of development work he will do.

"I believe all clubs and coaches at all levels should have a copy of RLCM Books as a coaching resource" Wayne Bennett - Brisbane Broncos
Mental Toughness Without The Mental.
With Steve Anderson
Continued from Tuesday
For the more experienced player, Steve sees preparation again as very important with fitness also coming into the mix.
He harkened back to the Melbourne Storm days when he says Chris Anderson developed a good mix of experienced, fit players.
"Melbourne's game was tough in the last 20 minutes. We had fit, experienced players in the group leading the team. We toughed out many games because it is the experience that comes from those arm wrestles, those tough games where it's 22 all and one minute to go. It's the experience, combined with the fitness side of it, that gets you through."
Steve was then asked what the coach or assistant coach could do.
Here he talked of discipline and used as an example, a simple thing like the player keeping a diary.
"I mean, just because you're filling out a diary, doesn't mean you're automatically going to succeed but I think it's the disciplines within the Rugby League athlete that makes up the toughness aspect as well. You're challenging yourself today to go through a routine and it's those little bits and pieces - the disciplines that make up a player," he said.
