The Rabbitohs Fan Day is on again this year, this time at the Rabbitohs new home ground of Telstra Stadium on Sunday, February 12.
The Rabbitohs Fan Day is always a fantastic day out for the whole family, with the Rabbitohs top squad of players and the Rabbitohs coaching staff on hand to meet and greet all of the Rabbitohs fans from 10am to 2pm.
This is your first opportunity to meet all of the stars including new recruits Joe Galuvao, Paul Mellor, Stuart Webb, Nathan Merritt, Ben Rogers and Jaiman Lowe, as well as current stars John Sutton, captain Peter Cusack, and the rest of the returning Rabbitohs squad.
The Rabbitohs will hold an open training session on Telstra Stadium under the guidance of Head Coach Shaun McRae and his coaching staff, allowing the Rabbitohs fans to check out the new squad leading up to the Charity Shield on Saturday, February 18 at Telstra Stadium at 8pm.
Fans will have an opportunity to the Rabbitohs new home ground and take a Stadium tour with some of the Rabbitohs stars as well as interact with the players and coaches throughout the day. Stadium tours need to be booked between 10am and 12pm and are strictly limited in number. The tours will begin at 12pm and depart every 10 minutes until 2pm.
Big Brother 2005 winner Greg Mathew will be the MC for the day, as well as conducting player interviews on the stage area.
There will also be jumping castles, giant twister, pass the ball competitions, a karaoke competition for under 12s and 12-18 years, and an autograph tent to entertain everyone on the day. The South Sydney Brighton Australia Cheerleaders will also be on hand to dance and to meet the fans.
Rabbitohs HQ and Football Club Membership will also be available on the day to purchase the latest Rabbitohs gear or to sign up as a Member and to support your team.
Entry is absolutely FREE for the Rabbitohs Fan Day so make sure you bring the whole family along for this wonderful day of red and green action. Entry to the Rabbitohs Fan Day is via Gate K (same side as P1 parking).
A $5 meal deal will be available on the day from Telstra Stadium including a BBQ sausage on a roll and a drink, however fans are welcome to bring along their own food and drinks on the day. Parking for the Rabbitohs Fan Day is available in the P1 parking station at a cost of $3 per hour with a maximum of $15. More information is available from www.secureparking.com.au/sop. Those who would like to take public transport can change at Lidcombe Station for Sydney Olympic Park, with the Rabbitohs Fan Day trains operating on a normal timetable. Three current Australian National Rugby League clubs have shown interest in signing Great Britain prop Danny Ward after his sacking by Leeds.
Ward, 25, had already spoken to Gold Coast Titans, who join the league next year, and three more teams have joined four Super League teams in the hunt.
"I've contacted all the NRL clubs and I'm talking seriously to three of them," said his agent Ron Hill.
Hill said Ward was unlikely to take up an offer to train with Batley.

Steve was asked then about how a young, 18 year-old player who has not had this experience, can be recruited with some certainty that he will develop as a mentally tough competitor.
His reply was that there needed to be some signs of durability, resilience and toughness and these could be picked up in a thorough background check.
Things like - how many games he has played last year, even the last five years. More importantly, how many games has he missed? Is he a good student? Does he get on well with others and has he got other areas of interest?
"So you have those key things of resilience, durability, consistency, discipline - they all go into the melting pot," Steve said.
"These will develop for the committed player the longer they play the game."
