RLCM 'Everyday' Coaching Quote for Tuesday
"The individual who is mistake-free is also probably sitting around
doing nothing... And that's a big mistake." Jack Gibson
RLCM will begin using 'Everyday' quotes from Jack Gibson's new
book 'Last Word' to purchase your copy click or cut and paste the URL

In The Last Word, Jack Gibson, rugby league's greatest coach gives
the ultimate verdict on what it takes to be a winner.
Jack Gibson tells us about his experiences amassed over forty years
as a player, coach and mentor.
This book features material from his diaries and scrapbooks (which
include quotes and opinions from some of sport's greatest thinkers)
and a collection of yarns, many of them outrageously funny, about
football and footballers such as Artie Beetson, Peter Sterling and
Mick Cronin —some of the biggest names from the recent 'golden
days'
of rugby league.
From leadership to mateship, Gibson reveals how he motivates his
players, the value of hard work and the necessity of honesty.
He discusses the importance of perfect preparation and self-
discipline, and how the values that are essential for a coach can be
applied to business and family life as well.
A small book of profound weight The Last Word is a unique combination
of wisdom and humour and has the potential to change lives.

SPORTS PERFORMER allows a coach to be objective about the game and
his players' performance because he is dealing with visible facts and
gathering specific data on what he feels is important.
Whether it is tackles, hit-ups or passes, the coach is able to pin
point the involvement of any player without the cumbersome video
play/pause/rewind and physical recording methods of the past.
The SPORTS PERFORMER will isolate - any statistic, players, plays,
events in the game or whatever a coach requires.
Any part of the game can be recorded and analyzed in detail eg.
analyzing a teams decision making on the fourth, fifth or sixth
plays, analyzing an oppositions defense on the short side in their
red zone.
