RLCM 'Everyday' Coaching Quote for Tuesday

" Whether a beginner or experienced coach, the development of a
coaching philosophy is necessary to clarify ones coaching
objectives.

"A coaching philosophy is a set of guidelines or principles that
govern the way one coaches.

"However, a coaching philosophy does not need to be set in stone, and
may alter over time as ones experience in the game, knowledge of
the
game, and visions for the future of the game evolve."

From the RLCM Book 28 article 'Developing a Coaching Philosophy'
By Tim Gabbet, Jason Kelly and Troy Pezet

How is a game put onto the computer?
SPORTS PERFORMER makes use of a mpg file residing on your computers
hard-disk but how is this file created?

There are several methods used to create these files and the device
that you will use depends on your current equipment configuration.

The common method of recording a game is currently onto a VHS video
tape and to save a video onto computer requires a video capture
device. One end of this device is attached either to an available
USB port or an available PCI slot on your computer and the other end
to either the AV (yellow and white) or the S-Video sockets on your
VCR.

Software such as ULead Studio or similar that is packaged with the
purchase of the device allows you to view the video on your computer
monitor and then allows recording to a computer mpg file.
Should you be lucky enough to have access to a digital video camera,
footage recorded on a digital camera can be transferred directly onto
your computers hard-disk via the cameras attachments and software.

If you are able to make your own game files on the computer, then the
Internet download is your best option as this can be available
immediately.

Alternatively, a clip from an old game can be included with the
demonstration version on a CD and posted to you.
