I read with interest on Ceefax (BBC) the other day that there will be an
amateur home nations series this autumn, featuring England, Scotland, Wales
and Ireland.
It said the England team would be selected from the Summer Conference, so it
should be a fairly open contest. I hope it takes off, it could produce some
useful players in years to come, and the amateur level is the right stage
for the home nations in rugby league, leaving Great Britain to represent the
professional game.
