I don't think it's a matter of if they can handle it. They are very strong
and aggressive. And above average as far as ball handling skills. They just
seem to not have the confidence to do it in a game situation. During
practice under pressure they can hit the upper and lower 90s with no
problem. Just something psychological about the actual game. Like coach
Tarlton said they want to pass too much. Giving up some obvious goal scoring
opportunities.

I have seen this phenomenon with girls teams all over the place.
The big
problem here is that they lack the aggression to finish. A lot of
teams will
pass the ball in front of the goal when they have a better chance
of
scoring than the receiver does. (sort of the hot potato in the box
type of
mentality) I have done a lot of work with having mine shooting under
pressure and shoot when they have a shot and not wait for that
perfect
touch. It takes a lot of time and patience and is not easy to break
them of
that habit.
