Just getting this from ESPN............according to the San Jose
Mercury-News, the Raiders have decided NOT to put the franchise tag on CB
Charles Woodson, thus pretty much ending his career in Sliver & Black. The
only thing that would change that would be Woodson signing with the Raiders
by March 2nd. Woodson can officially become a free agent on March 3rd.

Am I surprised? NO! The Raiders do have a good young secondary, & did
begin to play better by season's end. Defensive help is always needed,
especially if you have the 27th ranked defense, which they have.

It looks like Art Shell is already making his presence felt. He has
already hired Jackie Slater & Irv Eatman to coach the O-line, Daryl Sims to
coach the D-line, & Tom Walsh to be offensive coordinator. Walsh was a
Raiders assistant from 1982-94, the last 6 years during Shell's 1st tenure
as head coach.


Guess we'll see all the Woodson jerseys on sale soon...............*LOL*
