Colonel Gin, 4 yr old AQHA Gelding, Colonel Freckles lines. “Sparky” as he is called, is dark red chestnut with 3 tall stockings and a star. 14.2-15 hands. He is very quiet, extremely gentle, and easy for beginners to handle. He loves attention and people. Easy keeper and will stay healthy on pasture when not being ridden regularly. Good feet, can go barefoot. Easy loader, good hauler, loves to be groomed. Clips and bathes, stands well for the farrier. He is UTD on EIA and vaccinations. He is trained for beginning reining, sidepasses both ways, backs beautifully in any direction, slides with no rein contact. Super agile, smooth trot and canter. Moves out well on both leads, super vertical and lateral flexion, and can be ridden in a halter. No sores or blemishes, cute head, good conformation, he is a very attractive and flashy little guy. He has had 2 months of professional training at 20 months old. He has been ridden for hundreds of hours. There has been a great deal of time and care put into his training.  He loves to be ridden and genuinely enjoys his work. This is a FUN little guy to ride. He is so light and responsive.

The reason for rehoming is this; he has a bone spur in his left hock preventing him from moving forward with his reining career. It does not affect normal use, he just absolutely cannot spin or execute sharp turns at high speeds. X-rays show a spur on his left hock. The vet said he to refrain from spins and roll backs, but he is sound for regular use. He would make an excellent trail horse for someone looking for a small, easygoing, bombproof horse or would be great for a 4-H project horse, especially for a beginning rider as he is so easy to handle and not large and intimidating.  I think he would make a FANTASTIC SCA horse too.

I have a photo (not a very good one, but better than nothing) if you will email me privately I can send it to you.

Considering selling or leasing to the right home. Please contact David Saucier at 318-894-3196 or email dccws33@... for more information. Please put “Sparky” as the subject line.
