Re: [GleannAbhannEquestrian] Fw: [Ansteorra-Equestrian] Bordermarch Autumn Melees

I would love to go and support you guys in Ansteorra, but that is the same weekend as our Coronation which I am still really bummed about :-(!

If everyone who is interested in having the tournament at Gulf Wars could let us know that would be great. We are working on the schedule and I want to make sure if we hold a tournament it is at a good time for the majority of the Gleann Abhann Equestrians.

Thanks so much!

I regret that I shall not be able to attend Diamond Wars, it would be an 8 hour haul for me.  That is too long of a haul. While others may consider that fine, unless you are a professional or competing heavily where there is $$ on the line, it is just not worth it putting a horse through that for a pleasure type of outing. (Just my opinion.)

Border march - I'm going, but I'm merchanting.

Equestrian Champion for Gleann Abhann. Well, Gulf Wars may be the best bet unless a group has an event that will allow ponies.

Three Kings in Texas - Y'all come out for a fun time with ponies! The site is about 1 & 1/2 hours west of Shreveport.

I've got to run I've been working the evacuation shelters 6A-6P since Saturday. A week of 12 hr days is not all the fun one might think it would be.

Hi all.

I know most of us are still reeling from Gustav, but thought you might want to know (although I am sure most of you are up on this) that there are Equestrian Activities at Border March and they have actually asked if there is anyone from Gleann Abhann who will be brining horses. They would like to do a procession if possible as well to highlight the horses.

Hope that some of you might be able to make it.

Also, I was wondering if any of you were going to be bringing horses to Diamond Wars and thinking if that might be a better venue for choosing the Kingdom Equestrian Champion than Gulf Wars?

Thanks so much and hope everyone is safe and well following the recent storms.

Sincerely,

MG

In case you haven't heard the rumors - Ansteorra's eastern neighbors are planning an invasion this fall, and the chosen battleground is the fair Barony of Bordermarch November 20-23. (Yes - a 4-day event!)

Their Excellencies have called on all of Ansteorra to help them defend their keep against Glenn Ahbean, including the mounted troops!

Historically, this has been the venue for their Equestrain Championship.  However, due to the multitude of activities and our foreign visitors, their Excellencies have decided to move their Championship to their spring event.

The main equestrian event will be mounted combat in front of the keep during one of the fighting breaks.  I'd really like to see everyone put on one helluva show with the stone battlements in the background.  We also should take this opportunity to joust with new partners and enjoy the company of fellow horsefolk.

Bordermarch is preparing for 1000 attendees, and have set aside a shaded, level area to harbor us and our mounts.  Electricity and water will be available in camp.

I'd like to start getting a count on who may be coming and how many horses they plan on bringing.  The Royals would like to do a mounted procession to start things off, so if you have suitable horses you can "donate" to the cause, please let me know.

I hope to see y'all on the field in November!
