Re: Marshal Authorizations, riding authorizing authorization & GW

Ok, I know this will shock and amaze some of you, but I made a mistake! :)  If one is a marshal, one can stay a marshal when the KEO changes as long as you have not screwed up as a marshal. :)  The part of the society handbook I was referring to pertains only to deputies of the KEO not all marshals.  However, I still want the resume from anyone wanting to be a marshal.

Greetings,
For those that wish to start their Marshal Authorizations at GW 2008, please send me a "resume" that lists your SCA equestrian experience, any SCA or SCA equestrian  'ocrating experience, and mundane horse experience.  Send it in a private email to this address or my kingdom address.  I have put my resume in the files section (your references are optional, but if you choose to include them, please make sure they are SCA related).

Explanation:  Due to the new society equestrian handbook rule that all marshal status will be null and void each time a new KEO takes office, I feel it would be good for an incoming KEO to have paperwork on all marshals.

Also, remember that you must be a paid member to be a marshal.  Therefore, please have a photocopy of your current SCA card, front and back, at the event where you begin your marshal training.

Riding Authorizations:  For general riding (non-games), there will be a prescribed pattern to ride including, but not limited to large and small circle(s), stopping, turning around in both directions and general control of the horse.  For games, passing the general riding requirements, weapons training unmounted, weapons use on horseback.  Special authorizations for any mounted contact/combat activities, archery, driving, riding in armor and/or with shield.

More information to follow.

Also, the SCA handbook is in our files section, there has been enough time for all to go through it so please, if you are so inclined, start thinking about suggestions for our Gleann Abhann Handbook.

Thanks,
Alicia
