Several people in the area would love the longer stuff. The problem is the lack
of support. For the several that would love it, there would be a multitude that
wouldn't show up for the event because, "it's too long." Take for example the
December 15k. The numbers for it dwindled to where I'm sure it was no longer
cost effective to produce the race. The one race/different distances has also
been attempted by the folks at Valwood, to much the same result as the 15k. If
people aren't going to show for an event, it's not going to last very long.
Don't forget that nearly all events are meant to raise money for one cause or
another and if the people aren't coming, then neither is the money.

Race in Valdosta this weekend. Even though I am gonna have to miss it, I'm gonna
have to be in Atlanta on that day for a family event I would like to see Longer
Distances at the different events as a racer to motivate me to keep going and
striving for longer distances. I have done a TON of 5K races in the area, and
there are few 10K races and even fewer 15K races and I haven't heard of any Half
Marathon or Full Marathon races in the Valdosta community. Now here's my
"suggestions" only either have One Race with Different distances within that one
race and have different set of race numbers for the different race distances. Or
have one race dedicated to that One Distance of a race. Or for the more intense
runners have like 3 different race distances like some other areas do in
Brunswick if I'm not mistaken. like One Mile start at a certain time, followed
by 5K, then followed by
