Amy and Helen, who came up with the idea said ornament. I guess you

At the GaFSC Board meeting this weekend, several things were
decided/reported:
----------------
The dates for the 2002 Peach Classic will be August 30 - Sept 1,
2002.
Helen Ross and Honey Burton will be chairing the event this year.
A Kick-Off meeting for the Peach Classic will Wednesday night
December 5, at 6:45pm in the Breakaway Grill. Please come if you
wish to help or offer suggestions. Or, send your suggestions to
me or Helen or Honey.
--------------
The club is trying to get the IRS to give us non-profit status.
To do this we have to change our bylaws. To change our bylaws,
the membership has to vote for the changes.
The board has been working for the last year, to get a new set of
bylaws that the IRS would accept. We think we have that.
A Bylaws meeting will be December 14 at the Duluth and Town
Center rinks during Club Ice. If you can't make it to the
meeting, there will be ballots mailed to you in the newsletter,
and available online on the club's website.
We REALLY, REALLY need all members to cast a vote FOR or AGAINST
so that we get a quorom, or the vote doesn't count.
------------
The club is going to start selling ad space in the newsletter. If
you would like to help sell ad space, please contact Greg
Corbitt.
------------
The USFSA has sanctioned the GaFSC to host a Judge's School for
the next 4 years. Mary Ellen Minyon (Town Center) will chair the
committee for the 2002 school. This is a school for Moves in the
Field and Dance. The school will be held in either July or
August of each year.

The next Geriatric Figure Skating Crew dinner will be:
Thursday night December 6 @ 7:30pm.
We will meet at the Chinese restaurant just south of the Duluth Iceforum
rink.
Please bring a wrapped ornament costing no more than $5.00. We will play a
variant of Chinese Christmas, also known as "pass the trash".
According to Helen, the restaurant is never busy, so we won't need to make a
reservation.

Let's do dinner on Dec 6, after Xmas show practice, as lots of people
are already there. There is a chinese restaurant by Waffle House,
China Gate, that is never crowded. We could also do an ornament or
white elephant exchange, which would be fun.
I am not going to Easterns, so I will be at practice on Thursday
night....we can talk then.

Jean,
Thanks for the vote, but I was trying out the new polling feature of
the Yahoo Group.
It has a feature where we can setup a poll and then each of us can
answer the poll, and it keeps track of everything.
In the email, it should have had a link to the poll, if not, try going
to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GerFSC/polls
And then click on each poll and post your answer. You can see who and
how many have voted, and you can change your vote until the poll
closes.
However, if you want to just send emails to me that is fine too.
Whatever is easiest.

Yes, sort of, all anyone has to do is email to
GerFSC@yahoogroups.com, and then Yahoo forwards it to everyone on the
list, as well as archives the message on the board here.
However, not just everyone can email. Only mailers that belong to
the group. So we can't be spammed! I have setup the group so that
someone can ask to be added to the group, or if one of you knows
someone that needs to be added, you can just forward their email, and
I can set them up like I set you up.
I just didn't want to maintain the email list at work and at home.
And this way I can email using my phone if I need to!
You can setup how you want to receive your emails from the group, and
we can share photos, files, etc. without me having to upload things
to the group's normal website.

You may have already gotten my 'out of office' message as a response, but I
thought I'd add the personal reply just to be on the safe side. If this is
what I think it is, I like the idea of being able to be contacted by other
