The Peach Open and Peach Classic competitions are just around the
corner. We have 76 skaters in the Open and 55 skaters in the Classic.
They come from 17 states and 23 clubs!

The referee has sent me his tentative times for the events on Labor Day
weekend (Aug 31-Sep 2). I've put the schedule at the bottom of the
email.

What's next? Now that we have a schedule, what is needed is filling
the volunteer slots with actual people!!! We can't put on the events
without help from our members. Most of the slots require adults -
parents and adult skaters. However, some can be teenagers, and others
can be members of any age.

The Peach Open and Peach Classic competitions are our largest
fundraisers of the year, and by having the income from these events we
can keep our membership and other activity fees low. We can only do
that with your help. The more that volunteer, the more we can share the
work to create a great event for everyone. Please keep in mind that we
don't currently require a Volunteer fee as some clubs do. If it becomes
difficult to put on events due to members not volunteering, we will
have to consider instituting a fee for next year.

I've attached a listing of what jobs need to be filled during the
events. Many of the event chairpersons have spent lots of hours
planning this event, and now we are turning to you to help implement
all of the planning. Please help out by volunteering your time.

Please review the attached list, and then contact this year's volunteer
chairperson:

with the areas where you'd like to help out, and also which times you
would be available.

I've also included a list of the chairpersons for this year, if you'd
like to talk to them first about what is needed and when.

Also, if you could help sell advertising in the program or
sponsorships, or if you can supply items for Goody Bags, please contact
those chairpeople.
