*** BMX Returns Sea Otter Classic 2007 ***

Monterey, California -- 10/03/2006
BMX Returns; Adventure Racing and
Super D to Debut at Sea Otter Classic 2007

Sea Otter Classic will shuck its hard-earned reputation
as a "cycling festival" in 2007. Never fear, instead the
Sea Otter Classic will best its reputation as the largest,
most celebrated cycling festival in North America by
adding key events that reflect Sea Otter's innovative
spirit, like BMX, Adventure Racing, and Super D.

BMX at last gets its chance at the limelight with the eagerly
anticipated return of BMX racing to Sea Otter. In preparation
for its first-ever appearance as an Olympic sport in 2008, Sea
Otter's BMX event will feature an NBL-style BMX track with
"tabletops," rollers and one or two rhythm sections.

When the start gate drops, eight racers will stomp hard on
their pedals for a chance at the lead heading into the first jump
or turn. The coveted "inside line" might help advance the racer
who gets it first but it could be a power rider who pedals into
the lead from the outside. Racers must keep their bikes low to
the ground if they want to keep up their momentum and this
will be difficult given the terrain typical of a national level course.

"A traditional track will have a start that's probably 8-10
feet tall, not too steep and then it can have any combination
of obstacles in the first straightaway," said Randy Stumpfhauser
(GT Bikes), four-time UCI BMX World Champion (cruiser class).

"It could be a roller, a step-up jump or a tabletop.
I would say that a traditional track has a lot more
pedaling; power has a lot to do with it and getting
to the first corner is 80 percent of the race."

News Alert! Sea Otter's BMX event will now be one of six
state qualifiers in the Golden State BMX Championship Series!

Earning a spot on the 2008 Olympic team would be a rare prize
for any of the BMX racers expected to attend Sea Otter,
especially given the level competition in the U.S. and the very
real shot at a gold medal for the U.S. BMX team.

"They've been talking about it for years and years and now
we're like 'Wow it really happened!'" said Stumpfhauser.

"This is exciting because USA Cycling has been getting behind
us a lot with a lot of support. Our talent pool is so deep in the
United States that whoever makes the team will have a chance
at winning the gold medal."

Thanks to ever-inventive event organization, the Sea Otter
Classic now throws open its gates to the multi-sport crowd
with the debut of Adventure Racing, where teams must
complete the course together - no more than 30 yards apart
- using nothing more than a map and compass.

The Sea Otter Classic Adventure Race will be made up
of four elements featuring water, mountain bike, foot, and
a "special" element described as a "navigational skills test."

"Adding an adventure race to Sea Otter will just continue
to diversify an already expansive weekend of events," said
Mike Kloser. Mountain Bike Hall of Famer who now belongs
to the "winningest" team in adventure racing, Team Nike.

"I was there in the infancy of Sea Otter when it had just started
as a mountain bike specific event. Over the years I've watched
it continue to expand and grow in size and seeing it continue to
expand is really a symbol of what Sea Otter is all about, which
is innovation."

Since most adventure races are scheduled for the summer or
fall, Kloser added that spring events like the Sea Otter Classic
Adventure Race help create more of a balance to a typical
adventure race schedule, which is heavier later in the season.

Also debuting in 2007 will be the Super D, which is a hybrid
of downhill and cross-country requiring not only power, but
also a finely tuned descending strategy to win.

"Super D is the kind of race you'd have with your riding buddies
- first one down the last epic descent doesn't have to buy the beer,"
said two-time national Super D champion, Adam Craig. "It's the
essence of mountain biking in my mind, everyone climbs to descend,
is in shape because of it, knows how to rail because of it - it's the
simple combination and concentration that make it such a good time."

Sea Otter's Super D will be a 14-minute race with a
Lemans-style start. Racers are expected to reach for
short-travel, maybe even hard-tail rigs due to the classic
hard-packed, typically dry, fast conditions of mid coast
California.

"The course should have some punchy power climbs some
where and a bunch of buff fast single-track to lay it down,"
said Craig. "Some people will blow corners and get poison
oak for sure..."

For racers like 2006 National Super D champ, Sue Haywood,
who has raced at Sea Otter many times, the addition of Super D
will no doubt liven things up. A Super D race usually takes no
longer than 15 minutes so a pro like Haywood can collect a win
in the morning and still line up to race cross-country or short track
in the afternoon.

The Sea Otter Classic has founded its reputation as the
go-to event through events like Dual Slalom and Downhill,
a Pro Road Circuit Race, Pro Mountain Bike Short Track
(The Hurricane of Pain), the Invitational Dirt Jump, Road
and Mountain Bike Recreational Rides, Mountain Bike Ride
Zone, Bike Rodeo, and BMX Demos.

At the center of the non-stop action is the massive Sea Otter
Village and Expo, home to the world's largest outdoor consumer
bike tradeshow featuring nearly 300 vendors, an international
food court and loads of friend and family fun activities.

The Sea Otter Classic draws nearly 10,000 professional,
amateur and recreational athletes; 50,000 spectators; and,
more than 250 media representatives from across the globe.

All recreational events and festival admittance are free to
kids under 12! Spectator festival passes are $10 per day
or $30 for four days.

*** Pacific Cycles' Chris Hornung To Leave ***

MADISON, WI — 10/03/2006
Chris Hornung, who led a group of investors who bought
a bankrupt Schwinn Bicycle Co., will leave Pacific Cycles
at year's end, a source at Interbike confirmed. Hornung,
in an emotional dinner meeting with Pacific's key suppliers,
told them he was leaving the company he and other investors
had sold to a Canadian supplier of furniture and juvenile
products.

No official reason has been given for his departure,
although a long-time friend said he was eager to pursue
other interests. Dorel, a publicly traded company, had
yet to make a formal announcement of Hornung's leaving.

The magazine had contacted a press
spokesman from the company for a comment.

Hornung, Pacific's chief executive officer, along with
Direct Focus, bought Schwinn and GT in September
2001 for $86 million. In February 2004, Dorel bought
Pacific Cycles from its majority owner, Wind Point
Partners, for $310 million. At the time, Hornung had
a three- to five-year performance-based contract with
Dorel.

Mackay, Australia -- 10/03/2006
Mackay riders have pedalled their way onto the podium
at the Queensland BMX titles with an impressive display
in Townsville.

Represented in nearly every final, the Mackay region
can lay claim to being home to the best riders in the state.

The Mackay Pioneer squad also won the club trophy,
the fourth time they have done so in the past five years
and their third title in succession.

In all, members of the Pioneer Valley Club rode their
way to three gold medals, five silver and two bronze.

Adam Shields and Melinda McLeod won their respective
under 13 boys and girls divisions and Melinda Mcleod the
under 16 females.

Proserpine rider Bridgette Warren was unstoppable
claiming gold in the girls under 14 title and Walkerstons
Tristyn Kronk the under 10 boys division.

Clayton Zarb from Walkerston finished third in the under
9 boys, Proserpines Eden Findlay bronze in the 25-29 mens
20inch, and Moranbahs Blake Collins was second in the

One of the biggest efforts came from Danielson, who
at 16 finished the meet as the eighth best rider after
qualifying for the AA Open Men final.

*** Atwater Becomes A BMX Mecca ***

ATWATER, CA -- 10/03/2006
A major West Coast BMX race that is expected
to draw about 2,000 spectators could give the
city national recognition in the biking community.

The Redline Cup, sponsored by Arizona-based American
Bicycle Association, will have its championship race at
Veterans Park from Friday through Sunday.

The invitation-only race, which is free to the public,
will bring some of the best riders in the country to
Atwater, association director John David said.

The association also holds a Redline
competition in the central and eastern United States.

About 800 racers will speed through 1,000 feet of dirt
track in about 40 seconds, arching around corners and
launching off jumps, competing for trophies, jackets, and
-- perhaps most important -- bragging rights.

David said the sport, which originated in the 1970s, has
been gaining in popularity over time and will debut in the
2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

"It's a sport that's on the move," he said.

It will also draw an estimated 2,000 visitors, including
families from Arizona, Nevada, Oregon and Wyoming,
local track operator Keith Nance said.

With the large crowds, Nance said the event, which took
three years of work to land, will be one of the biggest events
in the city and, if successful, could lead the way to bigger races,
featuring close to 2000 participants.

"Hopefully there are a couple dates left
for next year's schedule," he said.

The event will pump money into the local economy
with people renting hotel rooms and eating at restaurants.

Stan Feathers said the boost would be small
and not have a huge economic effect on the city.

"You really see the impacts if the event is successful
and becomes an annual event," Feathers said.

The event may lure other similar events to the area,
Feathers said, which would give Atwater a name in
the racing community, providing more opportunities
for big competitions.

Racers are put in categories based on their age:
5 years old to 55, and experience: novice, intermediate
and experts, David said.

Merced resident Robbie Stanford, 42, raced BMX bikes
when he was a teenager and got back into the sport in 2000.

"I like the competition and the camaraderie," he said.
"It's a good physical activity. It keeps me in shape."

Today's tracks have higher jumps
and shorter straight-aways, he said.

"Back in the old days, it was about brute force and
horsepower," he said. "Now, it's more technical."

It was Stanford who gave his nephew, second-
grader Braiden Ward, his first bike 18 months ago.

Ward, a Merced resident, will be defending his first place
title from last year's Redline Cup in Tulare against fellow
7-year-old expert bicyclists this weekend.

But he doesn't sound worried.

"I feel like I might win because it's my home track," Ward said.
"And I won the state competition, so I feel like no one can beat
me."

He wrecked in a few of his early races,
but got back on his bike and finished the track.

"This one kid ran over me and I still didn't cry,"
he said.

Though it can be nerve-wracking to watch his son zipping
around, Alan Ward said he supports his son's high-speed
hobby.

"He's had some mean wrecks, but he's come
out of it with bumps and bruises," he said.

The family has traveled to big races in Oregon and
Las Vegas and may be going to more, Ward said,
because some teams are interested in recruiting his son.

"It's pretty cool to see the development," he said.
"It's exciting."

Western Redline Cup schedule

FRIDAY: 6 p.m. to about 9:30 p.m. -- Pre-race

SATURDAY: 11 a.m. to about 6 p.m. -- U.S. Open race

SUNDAY: 8 a.m. to about 3 p.m. -- Redline Finals

Munford, TN -- 10/03/2006
Colby Murphy's been BMX racing since he was
6 years old and has finished top in state and national
amateur competitions, but he's just decided to get
serious about the sport.

The 15-year-old Munford High sophomore's been
training nearly every day (weightlifting, riding and sprinting).

He changed his diet (seven boiled eggs every morning
and no sweets) so that some day soon, he can turn pro.

He'd like to be on Team USA at the 2008 Olympics,
when BMX racing will be in the program for the first time.

Colby's goal: "Not to have to work for
a living." BMX racing is his passion.

He trains and races at Tipton County BMX at Valentine
Park in Munford, where some riders are in it to go pro
and others just want to have fun.

Chris Murphy, Colby's father, says BMX racing
is a good sport for anyone -- especially kids.

"It gets them outside. Keeps them active,"
Chris Murphy said.

"There are a lot of kids that don't fit the mold for basketball
or baseball, but they can do this. Because it's individual."

There are races every Saturday night at Tipton County
BMX, an American Bicycle Association (ABA) park.
Anyone is welcome to ride at the park for free during
the week. The races are $10 each week.

On a recent afternoon, about five
riders trained on the 1,100-foot dirt track.

Colby, in a bright green jersey bearing his sponsor's name,
Fusion Force; torn jeans; and helmet with flames, raced
around the track, hitting a series of jumps. Riders can get
about 6 to 10 feet of air.

Colby's jersey says "The Candy Man," a nickname
some other riders gave him for being "eye candy"
for the girls.

Now, they call him "Slingshot."

Brian Churchill, of Munford, has been racing
at Tipton County BMX for about three years.

"I just do it for the exercise," said Churchill, 33.
"And it's fun to watch the kids get out here and
have a good time."

Zac Ginn, 11, has just started
racing again after taking a break.

He first started when he was 5.

"(Zac) used to be able to beat me, back in the day,"
Churchill said.

"That sounds like a challenge,"
said Tina Ginn, the boy's mom, who has also raced.

Jennifer Murphy, Colby's mom,
said BMX racing is a good sport for families.

They often travel to competitions together.

Colby will compete in Springfield, Ill., this weekend
and at the ABA Grands in Tulsa, Okla., in November.

He's raced in about 15 states.

Chris Murphy said he thinks his son has a
good chance of succeeding as a pro some day.

"When he wants something, he can do it."

*** Aaron Races To Win In BMX Nationals ***

Bridgwater, UK -- 10/03/2006
Bridgwater`s BMX bike-racing star Aaron Curry
retained his British title at the National Championship
s in Halworth, near Doncaster. The Haygrove School
pupil, of Chepstow Avenue, Bridgwater, added the
category for 15-year-olds to the title in the previous
age-group title that he had won last year BMX racing
becomes an Olympic sport for the first in Beijing in 2007,
too early for Aaron. But he is now in the Olympic Talent
Team, who have been selected with London 2012 in mind.

In 2005, Aaron was British No 1 in his age-group.
This year, aged 15, he has been in a joint group for
both his age and 16-year-olds, and would have finished
UK No 2 but for a crash in the final race of the National
Series. That put him down to seventh nationally.

He is a member of Burnham BMX Club, who enjoyed
considerable success at the Nationals. In the same age
-group as Aaron, his clubmate Daniel Tipton had a final
placing of fifth.

Daniel is a member of BMX's Olympic Academy stable
of promising riders, together with his clubmates Curtis
Manaton, Ryan Stack and Andy Cameron, who also
did well at the Nationals.

Curtis rode well to reach the 13-year-old final, then
crashed but remounted to finish seventh. Andy Cameron
(14) was sixth in his final.

Andy and brother-and-sister Ryan and Lauren Slack
travel from Devon to train with the Burnham club.

It paid off for Ryan, who won two national titles,
the cruising category for 12-year-olds and the standard
category for riders aged 11. Lauren, European-ranked
No 4 in her age-group, was runner-up in the 7-9 years
category.

The Burnham club's world-class brother-and
-sister stars Liam and Charlie Phillips also did well.

Liam (17), one of the favourites for a place in the
British team for Beijing, won the Elite Cruiser category
and was fourth in the standard Elite final.

The only riders ahead of him were a three-time
world champion and the last two British title-holders.

He is a member of the Olympic Podium Squad,
the group who will be expected to get a medal in Beijing.

His sister Charlie (18) has had a tough year with injuries,
but raised her game at Halworth to finish runner-up in the
Junior Female category.

The BMX racing season is now over, but the Burnham
club are holding a Winter Regional event in December.

*** BMX Bike Trip Builds Trust In Teens ***

BRIDGEPORT, CT -- 10/03/2006
Bridgeport Building camaraderie and trust were the
order of the weekend for a group of local boys on
an extreme bicycling trip.

The six young men are members of the Black Rock
Congregational Church's Christian Service Brigade.
They took part in the battalion division's annual bike
trek.

The church has taken the trip with boys ages 12 to 17
for several years. In previous years, the adventure lasted
the weekend and the nature trip took the group from
Bridgeport to a campground in Kent.

Inclement weather forecast for the weekend forced a
change in plans this year and the battalion stopped in
Bethel before returning home on Saturday. While in
Bethel, the group stopped at a BMX bike course to
have some fun.

"They loved it," said John Kopp, a captain of the battalion.
"They took turns on who would be the leaders on the bikes."

Kopp said the trip is a nice way to show the boys something
outside of their neighborhoods in Bridgeport and Fairfield.

But it's also intended to instill some discipline in them and to
build camaraderie and teamwork. "It's an endurance thing.

How many boys can say they rode a bike on a [60-mile] trip?
There are different leadership roles. They do some things they
never had a chance to accomplish."

Hal Munson, a former church elder who also took
the journey, thought this year's trip was "terrific."

"They got up to the BMX track and they
had plenty of energy to bike around."

Kopp hopes the church can organize a similar trip next April.

*** Not In The Dark About The Skatepark ***

Brighton, UK -- 10/03/2006
It was a shame Trudi Pettit (Letters, September 19)
didn't attend the skate demonstration on Brighton
seafront last weekend. She would have seen dedicated,
fit athletes, some as young as 11, competing.

To answer her points, the Hove Lagoon skatepark will
be for the use of skateboarders, BMX bikes, roller and
in-line skaters of all abilities and ages, and allow both able
-bodied and disabled children and adults to use the facility
side by side.

Far from keeping locals in the dark, there have been
three public consultations and this area of the Kingsway
and the roads north were leafleted.

Sussex Police have invested in the project as they see the
benefits it will bring and state-of-the-art 24-hour CCTV
will operate.

The new neon signs along Kingsway have already cut the
speed of the traffic. There are also several pedestrian crossings.

Finally, I think Graham Deane, Heather James and Victoria
Minos deserve a medal for their perseverance for staying the
course for five years. The Skatexpectations committee has
done a brilliant job and proof of this will be to see happy fit
children having a great time.

*** Everett Asks For Planned Skate Park ***

Everett, Washington -- 10/03/2006
Everett's second skateboarding park rolled closer to
reality Wednesday and is expected to open for area
skaters in June.

The City Council voted Wednesday to ask 10 companies
that specialize in building skate parks to propose a design
for a street-style park near Wiggums Hollow Park in north
Everett.

The city is seeking outside help for the $100,000 skating
portion of the park, as well as handling improvements outside
of the planned skating area, said Henry Schroder, an Everett
parks construction supervisor.

"To get the details right, it's going to
take somebody in the industry," he said.

The entire project is expected to cost $250,000.

The project calls for a lighted, fenced-in skating area;
a small parking lot; a drinking fountain; sidewalks; and
benches, including one resembling a giant skateboard.

The city also wants to set up a camera, which
would stream live video of the park on the city's
Web site.

The basic design concept of the park was established after
a meeting between about 30 skaters and city parks officials
in May.

Skaters wanted something that resembles
what one might see outside of a high-rise
office building.

Concrete stairs, rails, ledges and skateable
benches were among the top picks.

The city's first skate park near Walter E. Hall Golf
Course on Casino Road in south Everett was
approved in 1998.

Schroder said the local skating community's
input was instrumental in shaping the park.

"If all public meetings were that good, we'd get a
good wealth of knowledge on all of our projects,"
he said.

*** City Offers BMX Riders Their Own Track ***

North Port, FL -- 10/03/2006
BMX bicycle riding is a passion for a growing
number of North Port middle and high school
students.

Some parents with the time and money take their
children around the state to participate in races.

For 10 years or more city commissioners have been
hinting if not actually promising to build a BMX track
and to provide facilities other riders can use for riding
tricks.

The city already provides playgrounds, lighted ball fields,
picnic areas, tennis courts, handball courts and places to
toss a basketball through a hoop.

A generation of North Port BMX riders have grown
up without the city building what an earlier group of
BMX riders requested.

As one commissioner noted at their meeting Monday
night, it has taken so long for the city to respond that
some dedicated riders have graduated, married and
now have children of their own.

Bicycle motocross (BMX riding) involves bicycles
that have 20-inch wheels -- six inches smaller than
mountain bikes or the bikes used in those highly
publicized European distance races.

BMX participants race on sandy and hilly tracks,
while freestyle BMX riders -- a different group --
perform tricks either on flat ground with obstacles
or on specially constructed ramps.

BMX racing first became popular in California in the
late 1960s as teenagers imitated their motorcycle-riding
motocross heroes but on bicycles.

Freestyle riding, which often involves spectacular tricks,
is said to have been popular before skate boarding.

Bicycles have been around since the days Abraham
Lincoln was president. Early bikes were made of wood.
As strong but lightweight metal bicycles were developed
youngsters began showing off by doing wheelies and other
tricks. Those early daredevils became the precursors to
freestyle riding.,

Meanwhile, in the 1930s, clumsy skateboards were
first constructed by attaching old metal roller-skate
wheels to short pieces of dimension lumber, such as
two-by-fours. Eventually commercial ventures created
the type of skateboard used today.

Five years ago, North Port commissioners built a skate
board park across the street from the old police station.

BMX riders kept asking for a place to enjoy both racing
and freestyle riding. Now $50,000 has been set aside to
design a BMX park. A total of $300,000 is to be included
in the 2007-2008 budget.

Monday evening commissioners voted 5-0 to build
a BMX park in the Highland Ridge Park, just behind
the Boys and Girls club, bounded by North Port Boulevard,
Kenwood Drive, Mesa Court and Harmony Road.

While $300,000 is a great deal of money to spend on
our dedicated riders, it was predicted BMX racing and
freestyle riding will rapidly grow in popularity, just as skate
boarding did once the city provided its teenagers with a
properly designed place to participate.

Commissioners, determined to give young people more
places to expend surplus energy in their free time, also
talked of building a new, larger, more challenging skate
board park at Highland Ridge.

While those old enough to be grandparents may grumble
they had to create their own outdoor entertainment, a
growing city has fewer open spaces to keep young people
occupied.

We support the commission's decision
to spend surplus tax dollars in this manner.

*** DuPont Develops Lower-Cost For Making Titanium ***

WILMINGTON, Del. /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- 10/03/2006
DuPont (NYSE: DD) today announced a new process
for making high-purity titanium metal powder that could
reduce cost and substantially boost efficiency in parts
manufacturing. Titanium is a strong, lightweight and durable
metal, but has long been reserved for applications that could
justify its historical high cost.

The new process, developed with Honeywell Electronic
Materials, makes titanium metal powder which can then
be pressed into desired shapes. It will allow manufacturers
to make parts faster, with less machining and significantly
less scrap, while yielding virtually the same strength and
weight characteristics as machined titanium.

"This new technology makes titanium more affordable so
more industries will now be able to harness its strength and
weight advantages," said Rick Olson, vice president and
general manager of DuPont Titanium Technologies.

"This project is possible only because of DuPont's expertise
in chemical and particle science and Honeywell's manufacturing
process."

To make complicated parts from the alloy, manufacturers
currently must machine them from large, solid pieces of titanium,
a process that creates large amounts of scrap. For example, parts
manufacturers in the aerospace industry often must buy
approximately eight times more titanium than will be in
the finished part, a process that is only about 13 percent
efficient. The powder form of the metal can be converted
with nearly 90 percent efficiency, depending upon the
complexity of the part.

DuPont will market the titanium powder and is working with
a number of manufacturers in the aerospace, military, automotive
and chemical processing industries on parts designs made feasible
by the new material's affordability. Commercial quantities are
expected to be available in October. Applications range from
military uses such as howitzers and missile steering mechanisms
to sporting goods components such as bicycle sprockets.

"We are excited about this joint effort with DuPont because
it allows us to diversify into new high-growth industries while
building on our expertise developed from providing titanium
and other metals for the semiconductor industry," said Dmitry
Shashkov, metals segment leader for Honeywell Electronic
Materials.

The effort announced today was developed by DuPont
Titanium Technologies, the world's largest producer of
titanium dioxide (TiO2). TiO2 is a white pigment used
widely in the coatings, plastics and paper industries.

Honeywell Electronic Materials, based in Tempe, Ariz.,
supplies electronic chemicals, spin-on dielectrics, and other
advanced spin-on materials that enable the integration of
cutting-edge processes at customer sites. Honeywell also
maintains extensive product offerings under its metals business
segment, which produces physical vapor deposition targets
and coil sets, precious metal thermocouples and materials
used during back-end packaging processes for thermal
management and electrical interconnect for the semiconductor
industry.

*** Speak Up If You Want A Skate Park ***

Seattle, Washington -- 10/03/2006
Skateboard warriors needing more places to roll will get to
weigh in next week on 30 possible sites for Seattle's next
concrete-ramped vista.

The city's two skateboard parks are in Ballard and at the
Seattle Center. The Seattle Skatepark Advisory Task Force
wants public comment before recommending a new site to
the City Council in December.

Center Skateboard Park. A task force is asking the public for
help finding new locations for skate parks.
http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/dayart/20060930/450skateparks30_fuller.jpg

"We're basically looking for an equitably distributed network
of skateable terrain ... that's free, accessible and safe," said
Scott Shinn, a skater and task force member.

The task force, appointed by Seattle Parks and Recreation
and the City Council, spent months gathering information.

"This is a big step in the right direction," Shinn said, adding
that the task force whittled a list of 133 potential sites to 30,
based on geography, construction and development possibilities,
noise concerns and access to emergency services.

There is no target number of parks for Seattle. But Shinn,
noting that Portland has 19 skate parks, said, "We're following
the Portland model very closely, but it would be nice to at least
keep up with Portland -- or outdo it if we can."

On the task force list:

* Skate dots, small skateable areas along paths, parts of streetscapes
or in parks: Interurban Trail, Sandel Playground, Gas Works Park,
Magnolia Playfield, Myrtle Edwards Park, Eastlake Avenue East and
East Allison Street, Garfield-Medgar Evers Pool, Alki Beach.

* Skate spots, similar in size to a single tennis court (1,500 to less
than 10,000 square feet): Lake City Playground, Cowen Park, Judkins
Park, Pratt Park, Miller Playfield, Denny Middle School Athletic
Complex,
Hiawatha Playfield, Delridge Playfield, Fairmount Playfield, Roxhill
Park,
John C. Little Park.

* District skate parks, about the size of two tennis courts (10,000 to
less than 30,000 square feet): Maple Leaf Reservoir, Northgate park
and ride, Roosevelt Reservoir, High Point Playfield, Myrtle Reservoir,
West Seattle Stadium, Westcrest Park, Brighton Playfield, Rainier Beach
Playfield, Genesee Playfield.

* Regional skate parks, similar in size to a Little League or football
field (more than 30,000 square feet): Magnuson Park.

Planning or construction for other skate parks on park property was
under way before planning began: Ballard Commons Park, 5701 22nd
Ave. N.W., one of the two Seattle skate park locations; Lower Woodland
Park, near 5200 block of Green Lake Way North; Dahl Playfield, 7700
25th Ave. N.E.; and Jefferson Park, 4165 16th Ave. S.

Dewey Potter, spokeswoman for Seattle Parks and Recreation, said
development of individual sites will depend on the availability of
funding,
and, in cases where the city does not own the designated site,
cooperating with property owners.

The task force will present its final recommendations to the City
Council's Parks, Education, Libraries, and Labor Committee at its
meeting Dec. 6, Potter said. The Board of Park Commissioners will
hold a briefing and public hearing on the recommendations Dec. 14,
then make a recommendation to the superintendent of parks and
recreation in early 2007.

*** Skate Park To Be Named ***

GEORGETOWN, Ohio -- 10/03/2006
The lives of two Georgetown boys who drowned
in White Oak Creek this summer will be memorialized
when a new skate park opens in Georgetown next spring.

The parents of Corey and Austin Wilson have donated
$3,000 in insurance money to a Georgetown skate park
fund to be used to construct skate facilities in Kathryn
Hanlon Park.

Corey Wilson was 14 and Austin Wilson was 12
when they drowned near Higginsport on July 16.

Michael Hart, owner of Mycles Cycles in Georgetown,
said the Wilson family came to him with the money and
said "this is what we'd like to do with it."

Hart said he gets choked up just thinking
about the Wilson's kind donation.

"The Wilsons were very generous," said Hart.

The Wilsons said their sons would have loved the park
and asked that the park be named in memory of their
departed sons.

Hart was amazed at the Wilson's
bravery in the midst of tragedy.

"They have taken that pain and
said lets keep their memory alive."

The village of Georgetown recently agreed to keep the
memory of the boys alive as well, by allowing the skate
park to be named after the Wilsons. The village previously
agreed to let the skate park be built in Kathryn Hanlon Park.

Village Administrator Kelly Jones, said he feels the park
is "something needed" in the community and will help to
productively occupy some free time for area youth.

The park will feature fly ramps up to five feet tall,
quarter pipes, half pipes and rails and will be open
to BMX bikers, rollerbladers and skateboarders
in the area.

Jones said NBA player and Georgetown native
Brian Grant, donated some equipment to the park.

Hart said over the past two years, other locals have
donated money to the park which now, thanks to the
Wilson family, has enough funding to begin construction.

"It's been a broad community effort," said Hart.

Many kids in the community have also participated in
fund-raising efforts because they have a strong desire
to see the park come into fruition, said Village
Administrator Kelly Jones.

Jones said in addition to several donations,
"the kids have been working for it themselves."

Hart said the skate park ground will be prepped this fall
and concrete will be poured in the spring, with equipment
installation to follow.

Hart said he will need the help of local residents to help
set up the equipment and get everything ready for the grand
opening. Hart said he will reveal details of a grand opening
at a later date.

Hart also said the park needs additional
donations for lighting and other necessary fixtures.

*** West Windsor Skate Park Faces Delay ***

Princeton, NJ -- 10/03/2006
Township skateboarders will have to wait until May
to show off their frontside nollies and primo stands
in Community Park, officials said Monday.

While township officials initially predicted a fall opening,
the park expansion project — which includes the installation
of a skate park — fell behind schedule this summer when
only one construction contractor offered a bid.

According to Township Engineer Jim Parvesse, that contractor
requested too high a price, and the project had to be re-evaluated
and re-bid, setting it back about three months.

At its Sept. 18 meeting, the Township Council agreed to
award Procaccini Paving Co. of West Windsor $449,595
to construct the skate park and a dog park, expand the
current parking area and renovate the park's multi-use fields.

Officials met Monday to discuss the construction project,
which is set to begin in the next two weeks and may be
complete by May 15, according to Mr. Parvesse.

"At this point in the year, we're subject to the weather,"
he added. "We hope to get the majority of work done
before the winter, and then come back in the spring to
touch it up and fertilize."

The planned dog park will consist of two areas —
one 30,000-square-foot area for large dogs and a
15,000-square-foot spot for smaller ones — and
the parking lot will be expanded by at least 60 spaces,
officials said.

Perhaps the most anticipated portion of the renovation,
the 22,500-square-foot skate park, will feature quarter
pipes, grind rails and a launch box, according to
Recreation Manager Ken Jacobs.

Mr. Jacobs said he will be meeting in the next few weeks
with groups of children and parents to establish a set of
rules that will go before the Township Council at an
upcoming meeting.

The skate park is not likely to be professionally supervised,
he added, but may institute a minimum age requirement and
small membership fee.

*** Skate Park Construction To Begin Oct. 9 ***

Corpus Christi, TX -- 10/03/2006
Mounds of dirt and concrete soon will rest on the grassy
acreage of Cole Park as the Junior League of Corpus
Christi prepares to build a skate park that has been five
years in the making.

Groundbreaking for the 10,000-square-foot facility is
scheduled for Oct. 9 on the south end of Cole Park,
close to the KidsPlace playground, and construction
will begin Oct. 15, said Barbara Milfelt, a Junior League
member who is co-chair for the project. Construction is
expected to last four to five months.

"This will be the biggest and best skate park we've built in
Texas, easily," said Chris Hildebrand general manager of
Grindline Skatepark Inc., a Seattle company that specializes
in building skate parks. "We're going to build a timeless
design that will engage skateboarders for ages, so they
can have fun this summer, next summer and fun in 2020."

Concrete and steel, more durable than wood or plastic,
will be used to build the skate park, which will include a
10-foot bowl-type design and features that mimic down
town architecture such as rails and ledges, Hildebrand said.

The project includes installing a drainage system that
coincides with the park's current system, placing concrete
by hand, installing steel reinforcements and specialty welding.

When complete, the skating area will accommodate
about 40 to 50 skaters at a time, Hildebrand said.

The skate park will be open to all ages, said Sally Gavlik,
director of the city of Corpus Christi Parks & Recreation
Department, and a time will be set aside for bike riders to
use the facility.

Safety is the city's top priority, Gavlik said, and skaters
and bikers will be required to wear helmets and pads.

Signs that read "Skate at Your Own Risk" are expected to
be posted on a fence that surrounds the skate park, Gavlik
said.

"Injuries due to people's negligence in how they're
using the park are their responsibility," she said.

Though the park's operating hours have not been finalized,
the hours will be set according to the season, Gavlik said.
Since days during the summer are longer, skate park hours
will be, too, she said.

The idea for the skate park started with a 2001 Junior
League survey of its members that found a skate park
was the most desired project, Milfelt said.

In 2003, the Junior League took on the project, pushing for
a facility that would allow skaters to enjoy their hobby without
worrying about getting kicked off of public ramps and sidewalks.

The Junior League raised $200,000, with most of the money
coming from fundraising events, Milfelt said. Grants, corporate
sponsors and in-kind donations supplied the rest of the funds,
and the city contributed $100,000 toward the park.

"The vision and the promise of a skate park for our community
has been kept and will now be a part of city history," Milfelt said

The plan did not come without hurdles. Nearby residents
opposed the location of the skate park in 2005 because
they deemed Cole Park a historic, scenic location, and
there were worries about park crowding, heavy traffic
along Ocean Drive, graffiti, curfew problems and the lack
of 24-hour cameras or staffing at the skate park.

The City Council voted on a master plan for Cole Park in
2005, which included the skate park, upgrades to the
amphitheater, more shade structures, sand volleyball courts,
additional picnic units and an upgraded pier for fishing.

Skateboard enthusiast Austin Moreno, 6, whose feet kicked
up sand as he swung on a swing at Cole Park on Wednesday
afternoon, said he looks forward to dusting off his barely-used
skateboard and sharing the turf with other kids.

"I like to see them jump," Austin said, with a
mischievous grin. "They jump so high, then fall."

Austin's mother, Daniela Moreno, was happy to see her
son excited about learning to skateboard, but worried that
the skate park might bring more litter and a criminal element
to the bayfront.

Moreno, who lives about five minutes from Cole Park,
suggested that since skateboarders were so adamant
about building the facility, they might think about forming
a committee to help maintain the park and pick up trash.

Once the city takes over ownership of the skate park next
spring, the city of Corpus Christi will be responsible for
maintenance, Gavlik said. Since the Junior League has signed
a contract with Grindline Skateparks, the group will be
responsible for maintenance until the contract expires.

Terri Alexander, whose children Caleb, 5, and Brook, 3,
rode bikes along the bayfront at Cole Park last week, said
she would be the last person to complain about the skate
park.

Others should share her view, she said.

"People always complain about kids being obese,
but then they don't want to give them anything to do,"
Alexander said. "This will keep them active."

*** Hopes Edgerton Skate Park Will Roll ***

Edgerton, WI -- 10/03/2006
Edgerton Parks and Recreation Committee
meetings do not qualify as "awesome," and
no one would ever mistake them for "extreme."

But Grant and Gavin Mahr see a vision:
a place to skateboard in Edgerton.

"We wanna have fund-raisers," said Grant, 11.

Perhaps a big garage sale, added Gavin, 10.

The Mahrs last year started pushing a skatepark like
ones in communities including Whitewater and Delavan.

They presented a petition with about 150 signatures at
City Hall. With help from parents and stepparents-useful
for driving and such-the Mahrs toured local skateparks
and built a 44-page informational booklet on skateparks.

Grant struck the bravest and highest-profile blow for the
cause in August when he gave a presentation on skateparks
to the city parks and recreation committee. Grant and Gavin
hung flyers before the meeting. City Administrator Ramona
Flanigan said the meeting drew "probably the best attendance
at a parks meeting" she had seen.

The idea has support. The parks and recreation committee
has created a subcommittee to look into the issue.

The subcommittee hasn't yet met.

Grant and Gavin speak with calm seriousness about getting
their skatepark. The park would draw skaters off private
steps and railings, they said. It would defuse the cat-and-
mouse relationship skaters and police build in many towns,
they said.

Gavin estimates about 50 people he
knows in Edgerton would skate at the park.

"Kids in Edgerton need an outlet," said the boys'
mother, Jeanne Purnell of rural Edgerton.

"They get bored."

The boys have skated since they were 4 and 5 years old.
Their father, John Mahr of Lake Mills, said the boys don't
have to be pushed to skate, as they need reminding to
practice their musical instruments.

Grant is a relaxed, precise spokesman for the movement.
Gavin, John Mahr said, is the body-sacrificing risk-taker
willing to drop onto huge ramps. They both maintain the
shaggy hair and baggy clothes expected on miniature
extreme athletes. Gavin wants to be a professional skater.

The boys have skating heroes. Gavin likes someone you've
never heard of, while Grant prefers skating's holiest figure,
Tony Hawk.

Grant plans to write Hawk's foundation, which gives cash
for skatepark efforts. The boys would love to meet Hawk
when they're in California in a few weeks, said stepmother
Amy Mahr.

Back in Edgerton, Flanigan isn't positive the momentum
will translate into a skatepark. She said the idea's success
will depend on choosing a viable location and finding money,
something taxpayers don't love coughing up.

She said it is unprecedented in her time for kids to build a
coherent political movement to get something done in the city.

Grant and Gavin explained it simply:
They want a place to skate in Edgerton.

Asked whether he had learned anything from dealing with
city committees and officials, Grant offered an answer so
honest that it had to come from an 11-year-old who just
wants a place to skate.

"No," he said.

"Not really."

*** Skate Competition Draws Big Crowd ***

BULLHEAD CITY, NV -- 10/03/2006
A few flippy tricks into the game of skate,
Justin Sanchez was feeling pretty good.

“I didn't think I'd make it to the finals,” the 14-year-old
said as he received congratulations from the Five-O Skate
Shop skate competition spectators. “This was cool. I've
been skating for about three years but I never thought I'd
win.”

Sanchez, the game of skate winner, was one of 40
entrants in the competition held Saturday at Rotary
Park that played to a crowd of several hundred.

Skaters showed off with nolie-flip-the-fives, kick-flip-
foot-plants and 180 nose grinds, which took Harrison
Sandman to first place in the best trick competition.

“This was a lot better than the other competitions we've
had around here,” the 20-year-old Sandman said. “We
had actual judges instead of people just saying their friends
won when somebody else deserved it. The prizes were good,
I needed a new board.”

Professional skaters from Cathedral Skate, a
skateboard company out of California, judged
the event.

First-place winners took home a new skateboard,
a T-shirt and new shoes, second place winners received
a new board and a T-shirt, and third place winners were
awarded a T-shirt.

No major injuries were reported but had there
been, it's all part of the business of skate, entrants said.

“Most everyone out here has broke something,”
said 20-year-old T.J. VanHorn, who took first
place in the open skate competition. “You just
keep doing it. If you fall, get back up and get
back on your board, if you can.”

VanHorn suffered a life-threatening injury three years
ago that left him with 11 staples in his head and a five
-day hospital stay.

“I got back on, but now, I wear a helmet,” he said.
“I love skating. I can get on my board and it takes
my mind off everything.”

Duston Fite and Dylan Procter also
placed in the open skate competition.

Event organizer Bill Clark, owner of the
Five-O Skate Shop, said the event went
very well.

“It's great to see so many kids participating,” he said.
“This was our first competition and I didn't know how
it would go but I'm very happy.”

Bullhead City Parks and Recreation co-sponsored the
event and they said they were very happy with the turnout.

“A lot of people have wanted something like this around
here for a long time,” BHC Parks and Recreation manager
Dave Heath said.

“I'm glad someone finally put something like this together.
We have some programs of our own that we are going to
be starting that tie in with the skate park. We need more
things for teens and they love the skate stuff and they like
the concerts we've been doing.”

*** Pacific Writes Off $3.5 Million In Sting-Ray ***

Montreal, Ontario Canada -- 10/01/2006
Dorel, Pacific Cycles parent company, reported that
second quarter sales, totaling $436 million, were flat
compared with the same quarter last year.

The companys first six-month earnings
were down 2.2 percent to $887 million.

Some of Dorls divisions where up - its baby products
and juvenile division grew 12 percent to $216 million.
However, those divisions could not offset falling sales
in its bike division.

"As anticipated, the quarter was disappointing.
While juvenile posted solid revenue gains,
particularly in the U.S., we are continuing to work
through issues in ready-to-assemble furniture and
to stregthen Pacific Cycle`s foundation in recreational
products," said Martin Schwartz, Dorel`s president
and chief executive officer.

Dorl`s recreational/leisure division, which is dominated
by Pacific Cycle, saw revenues fall 10 percent to $100
million from $111 million last year. Earnings from operations
were down 58 percent to $6 million from $13 million.
Year-to-date earnings from operations decreased 43
percent to $13 million from $22 million last year.

Schwartz points to a major mass market customer`s invenyory
reduction initiative as the main reason for Pacific`s sales drop
as well as slower sales to other reailers. In addition, Dorel
wrote off $3.5 million on its remaining Sting-Ray inventory
to lower prices and help move it through the channel.

Going forward the company expects sales during the second
half of the year to be better. Inventory levels at mass retailers
are low so orders are expected to pick up.

Wal-Mart`s bicycle boutique concept has proved
a sales success for Pacific`s Schwinn and Mongoose
brands. According to Schwartz, the retailer plans to
roll out six more stores with the IBD-like departments,
as well as retrofit some existing stores with the concept,
something Pacific expects will increase profits.

"Our IBD business was up 29 percent in the second quarter,
so the plan to make GT exclusive to this channel has been the
right one," Schwartz said.

The company also is renewing its commitment to e-bikes and
will launch entirely new bikes this fall at Eurobike. Featuring
new battery technology that promises range and weight savings,
the company thinks electric bikes may be coming of age.

For the first time in June, Pacific Cycle shipped more than
$1 million worth of scooters, the highest amount for a single
month since the line was introduced.

This reflects EPA certification of the units in all 50 U.S. states
and continued growth of the dealer network, which doubled
over the quarter to 156. Pacific hopes to have a 150cc scooter
on the market shortly.

*** Dew Action Sports Down To The Wire ***

Orlando, FL -- 10/01/2006
With Dew Tour getting down to the wire, and the
last stop approaching quickly, athletes have their
own individual approach to preparing themselves
for the big showdown.

Some see the time in between tour stops as a blessing and
a chance to catch up on sleep and hang with friends, whereas
others are pushing themselves to stay on top, dialing new tricks
on a daily basis, training like mad and even hitting comps to
maintain their competitive edge.

For instance, things don’t slow down for the skate
industry’s best. Ryan Sheckler is cramming more into
the few weeks that linger between the Toyota Challenge
and the PlayStation® Pro than your average 16 year-old
fits into a school year. To start with Sheckler attends
school for a total of three hours a week, but is given five
hours of homework.

His work load at Futures High School in Mission Viejo,
CA is letting him complete high school much quicker than
he would have if he’d stayed at San Clemente High – a
necessity for a kid that is going no where but up - and up fast.

So with the Dew Tour San Jose stop wrapping up
September 10 and the final Dew Tour stop of 2006
beginning October 12 in Orlando, Sheckler spends
his days balancing a new school year and tons of travel
to different cities for TV appearances, photo shoots
and filming and let's not forget, skating.

On the other side of the country, Ryan Guettler has
been playing it cool, spending time in his pimp Greenville,
North Carolina home, riding his bike and hanging with his
dog. He’ll be hitting up the Interbike Convention in Las
Vegas, September 27-29, before heading to Orlando
where he will no doubt stake claim in competition.

Pierre-Luc Gagnon has been MIA, due to knee
surgery that he underwent mid-summer. He’s just
getting back into things, easing his way onto the
ramp again.

Vert veteran Bob Burnquist, knows the ropes and has
been spending his days cruising the ramps with friends
– like the good old days. When one’s life is filled with
comps, photo shoots and filming, skating gets lost in the
fog of industry responsibilities for pros.

There is nothing like a no-pressure skate session with your
friends to bring it back to light and remind you why the roots
of the sport are so important. Bob’s been happy to bomb
around the ramps with his buds and even checked out Perris
Indoor Skydiving Wind tunnel as part of the Flyboyz Film
Festival. For this guy, it’s all about fun.

Whether it’s kickin’ it at your local park or flying around
the world for contests – these Dew Tour athletes are doing
whatever's neccessary to get their heads in the right place
and their bodies in the right condition for competition.
When it’s down to the wire, you’ve got to do whatever it takes.

*** SBS to Distribute Sister Company Lapierre in United States ***

LAS VEGAS, NV — 10/01/2006
Over dinner Wednesday after the show, Seattle Bike
Supply (SBS) president Chuck Hooper and Lapierre
managing director Gilles Lapierre signed a deal under
which SBS will distribute the French brand in the
United States.

Lapierre is owned by the European Accell
Group, which purchased SBS early this year.

“When the agreement came about, Gilles and I started
talking and a week after started forming a concept of
how this could work,” Hooper said. Lapierre will tap
into SBS’ extensive dealer network and strong
distribution model.

Lapierre entered the North American market last April
and made its debut here last year. It will close its U.S.
office in Boulder, Colorado, and move current materials
and inventory to SBS’ Seattle office.

SBS currently has Lapierre cyclocross frames in stock.
New models will be available from SBS in December.

*** Accident Victim Was Recent Cycling Convert ***

Seattle, Washington -- 10/01/2006
Though she loved running and mountain climbing,
Susanne Neil Scaringi didn't do much cycling before
participating in the Cascade Bicycle Club's bike to
work challenge in May.

Since then, she biked almost daily to her job in downtown
Seattle, first from Mercer Island and then from the West
Seattle house she and her husband bought this summer.

Early Wednesday, Scaringi, 27, suffered a critical head
injury when a driver heading toward her made a left-hand
turn in front of her, causing her to slam broadside into the
man's van, according to Seattle police. Though she was
wearing a helmet, the impact of the crash proved fatal.

Scaringi died Wednesday evening at Seattle's Harborview
Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Susan
Gregg-Hanson said.

The collision occurred during Scaringi's morning commute
to her job at Outdoor Research, an outdoor-clothing and
-gear store on First Avenue, said Matt McClung, a close
friend and fellow cycling enthusiast. She was about a mile
from her home when she crashed into the van at 35th
Avenue Southwest and Southwest Graham Street, he said.

Her reasons for commuting by bicycle were partially
environmental, partially economic, said her husband,
Tony Scaringi.

"She was cycling off and on, but not like she was after
May," he said. "It was something we were doing together,
and she was getting me into it."

Seattle police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said the
accident is under investigation. He could not say
whether the driver, a man in his 50s, is likely to
face charges.

McClung, a sometime participant in Critical Mass,
a monthly bicycling event aimed at raising awareness
of cyclists' rights, is planning a candlelight vigil at the
crash site tonight to honor Scaringi. The vigil will take
place after the Critical Mass ride through downtown
Seattle, which occurs the last Friday of every month.

"She was such a cool woman. She definitely had a lot
of spunk," said McClung, noting that Scaringi competed
in this summer's Danskin women's triathlon and this month
completed the annual Trek Tri-Island, a three-day, 135-mile
cycling tour of the Olympic Peninsula and San Juan Islands.

Scaringi's Christian faith was important to her, but it wasn't
something she often talked about, Tony Scaringi said. "But
she lived it, which is why she gave and gave [to friends and
family]. It was her action of living out her faith," he said.

That generosity of spirit prompted Scaringi to become an
organ donor — and doctors determined she is a good
candidate for donation, her husband said.

"We hope and pray [her death] is
going to save other lives," he said.

Memorials

A candlelight vigil will be held tonight at the intersection
of 35th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Graham Street
and is scheduled to begin about 7:30 p.m. Cyclists will meet
at 5 p.m. at Westlake Center for the monthly Critical Mass
ride before heading to West Seattle.

A memorial service to honor Susanne Scaringi is
planned for Saturday; details are being finalized.

*** 2012 Olympic BMX Talent Team ***

London, UK -- 10/01/2006
A pair of young BMX stars are dreaming of the
2012 Olympics after being selected for the
Great Britain talent team.

Eleven-year-olds Bradley Minns and Reece Hoggatt are
two of just 12 British BMX riders aged 11-15 selected
for an elite squad to receive specialist training for the
London Olympics in six years time.

The boys, pupils at Searlby Park, are two of the biggest
success stories to come out of the Harworth Hurricanes
club which has just hosted the British Championships and
have already been crowned national champions.

Bradley's father Bob said: "It's a fantastic achievement for
both lads, and a great oppotunity. And to get two from the
same club and same school to be selected in just 12 out of
the whole of Britain, is very special."

Both boys are in their fifth season of BMX riding having t
aken up the sport when the Harworth club was formed.

At the recent national championships at their home course,
Reece added the national crown to the Euro Series title he
already owns and a No.3 ranking in Europe. Bradley finished
runner-up in both the Under 12s Cruiser and the 11-year-old
age group categories.

Bob added: "They have both done really well,
but the facilities available to them at Harworth are fantastic."

"It's now the top club in the country and
everything is based around the junior riders."

Both families are appealing for sponsorship
to help the boys in their step up to the next level.

They need the support to purchase starting gates
to be able to practice away from the course.

*** Control Your Murata Boy Bicycling Robot ***

Murata Manufacturing Co -- 10/01/2006
Taken your new Segway over any sweet jumps (in reverse)
lately? While it's highly improbable that you have (at least
intentionally), you can satisfy your cravings for ascending
inclines in a safer, less direct fashion with Murata's not-so
-sheepishly named Murata Boy.

The robotic bicycler has made quite a few strides in
performance since last year, and thanks to improved
balance, gyro, and shock sensors, can now handle
slopes and even thinner balancing beams with ease.

Plus, it received a whopping 9% speed increase, bringing
the top-end up to a mind-numbing 1.34 miles per hour --
though apparently it feels a helmet is still a necessity at that
pace (gotta be a role model for the kiddies, you know).

The real thrill comes from controlling the Tour de France
-trainee via your cellphone; sporting a built-in Bluetooth
module in its backpack, the Murata Boy wheels wherever
you direct it, so long as it can handle the terrain.

Sure to be just as popular in Japan as the Tickle Me Elmo
eXtreme should be in America this holiday season, the
Murata Boy will be released to the masses on October
3rd for an undisclosed price.
