SAN JOSE, Calif. -- 09/09/2005
Afro Bob (a.k.a. Robert De Wilde) captured first at the finals
of the BMX Supercross World Cup Finals at the HP Pavilions
dirt track Friday during the Dew Action Sports Tour.

To put in perspective the progress made by action sports in the
mainstream, consider that a similar BMX Supercross race to the
one staged Friday in San Jose will take place at the 2008 Olympics
in Beijing.

The movement of action sports into the Olympic games further
legitimizes their popularity, as well as the true sportsmanship
involved,
said Wade Martin, general manager of the Dew Action Sports Tour in
an official release.

The previous round of the BMX Supercross
World Cup was held in Aigle, Switzerland.
