*** Commentary: Stop The Cyclist Insanity ***

Bicyclists out along the Burke-Gilman trail in the Lake
Forest Park/Kenmore area ignore stop signs because...

There are too many stop signs.

And since the cyclists just blow through those stop signs anyway,
why of course it's reasonable for the cyclists to insist that the stop
signs be removed.

It's that kind of convoluted logic that's going to help turn
redeveloping the Burke-Gilman trail through Lake Forest
Park an absolute nightmare.

Maybe all that leg-pumping action is somehow cutting off circulation
to their brains, 'cause it seems to me that cyclists aren't thinking too

clearly.

They've already run off, or run over, people who had
the foolish notion that they could walk the Burke-Gilman
Trail.

Now, with their noses higher in the air than their lycra-clad butts,
arrogant cyclists figure that people who live along the trail - not
to mention those who drive cars across it - should ALWAYS
give pedal pushers the right of way.

There was a time when cyclists would implore:
"Share the Road!"

Now it seems they want to own the road.

It's why more people are coming to understand that while
cyclists may help reduce carbon monoxide in the air, the
level of B.S. is going up astronomically.
